It's just like building backlinks to your main site.

Say for example you submit an article to build a back link to your site.

Don't just stop there. Bookmark your article write a couple of web 2.0 site posts or lense and point those to your article.

The idea is you want that article that is pointing to your site to have as much juice as you can get it to pass along to your site.

No, RSS is entirely something else, can't be enlisted in backlinks.

Secondly, you can do backlinking of backlinks, though it won't yield much of a sweet fruits.

Say i have 10 high PR directory articles published. Aswell as hundreds of low PR articles.

Should i aim to bookmark all of these? A bookmark is a RSS feed right?

Regarding the web 2.0 pages. How many should i aim for? Also with these is it 5-10 or whatever per page or for my whole site?

There are a few tools which almost automate what you want: I think it is Backlinks Booster and Backlinks Energiser. If you are worried about building backlinks to your backlinks then these types of tools are the best way to go.

I wouldn't spend too much time on it though, instead focus on creating more content and finging backlinks that don't actually need that extra boost.

Scrapebox is like the Swiss Army Knife of SEO / IM tools.

If you're looking to backlink your backlinks, it will definitely do the job. I use it to throw lower quality blog comments at my buffer pages in large quantities. (And save manual comments for higher quality blogs that usually require approval from the owner.)

Different opinions there... Personally I do backlinks my backlinks and find it effective. I agree with someone who said that it is better just to get high-quality BLs to begin with, but obviously low-quality BLs are easier to get. So... make your lower quality backlinks HIGHER quality by backlinking to THEM. I wouldn't use RSS for that though, I am really not sure of the benefits. Collecting your backlinks, turning them into an RSS feed and spreading that around the net may have a benefit in getting them noticed and indexed at a better rate, but I doubt it passes much juice. I dislike using Scrapebox for that too (posting blog comments with my BLs in) as it is SPAM, plain and simple (I hate it on my blogs, so won't do it to others). Better use AMR and rotate your backlinks in the resource box. No-one reads those article directories anyway . Works for me, though can take a month or two to really see the effects.

Thanks Jason. I have already started these methods. its just that i want to learn and cover all aspects of off page seo.

For those that use backlink energizer. Does it bookmark and RSS feed pages automatically? Or does it just ping our backlinks?

I have submitted 3 articles now to high PR directories. Fingers crossed there accepted. If there accepted i should create some web 2.0 pages and link the high PR articles to them right?

Also how do i link the low PR submissions to web 2.0 for extra juice? Do i need to find all the url's for the low PR sites and link that way. I know this is a totally lame question just i'm not sure lol

Well, that's ONE way to do it, why not? There is no one single formula for this stuff, you need to experiment and see what works for you, for your niche, for your level of competition. But why create the Web 2.0s AFTER you submitted the articles? Are you going to go back and edit the links in the articles afterwards. I mean, that can be done usually, but personally I would create a few web 2.0s FIRST - they are my first-tier, "quality" backlinks. Then I would gradually link back to those from article sites etc., thereby basically gradually increasing the "authority' of my web 2.0s. So I usually only have these higher quality sites linking to my main site, especially if it is an important site.

The low-PR submissions, how to link to web 2.0s...? Not sure what you mean - different people have different ideas of low quality, but as I described above, a lot of people create relatively high quality web 2.0 pages in their first tier of links, and then spam the crap out of those with all kinds of backlinks - blog comments, forum profiles, mass-article submissions (I personally only use the latter) etc., all pointing to one or more of those web 2.0s.

Not sure what you mean by 'find all the URLs'. What I do is collect the URLs of the pages on which I created backlinks to my web 2.0s and then do something with those too, like I might create an RSS feed out of them, or rotate them through one of the backlink energizer type tools, or even do another whole run of article submissions backlinking to the backlinks to my backlinks! That gives you a huge great wibbly-wobbly tower of backlink goodness - it IS a little time-consuming but it does directly impact your ranking over a period of weeks. I am using a variation of this right now and have moved a site from about no. 20 to about no. 10 - it has taken 3 weeks, but I don't care: slow and steady wins the race, and it doesn't take that much time to do this stuff. In fact, once I set it up, most of it is automated if you use the right tools

Probably, This guy is asking for creating closed link wheel strategy for his site. If it is, definitely, He has to start web 2.0 techniques. isn't it!

You haven't done anything wrong in backlinking your site And no, it's not too late at all, on the contrary, I like a fairly random approach. Sometimes I create a web 2.0, like a Squidoo lens, on a related subject, do some backlinking to it, and then only add a link on the lens to my money site after a few weeks or something. You just have to keep track of it all so you don't get lost or waste time building something and then forget to use the backlink And this approach can seem to take a long time to yield any major results (well, depends how aggressively you do it), but SERPS rises seem to happen more smoothly, without all the jumping around and Google-dancing this way. Also, this way you do not get discouraged thinking that your site has been 'sandboxed' or whatever, but you can actually gradually see the results happening for your main site.

But you have to be persistent, for a low competition site you might need five or six different "buffer sites" (like web 2.0s, articles on high PR sites etc.) and then I find I need to backlink those quite a lot, preferably with an automated tool like AMR. Maybe you don't need THAT many backlinks to these - but I guess progress might be slower. Some people blast them like crazy, I don't like that too much either. Like I say, slow but steady wins the race...

oh wait, I get it now, you were talking about backlinking articles to your site and then web 2.0s to the articles. i had always done it the other way around, as I described earlier, because I can mass-submit articles with AMR. But honestly I don't see it making much difference. Try it and let us know

We get great results from backlinking backlinks.

Mind you this is something I have been playing with for sometime and have built up my sort of "special" sause to make it happen.

I find we often not only rank the client site but then also rank some of the created content with this method.
