Will this hurt me in terms of SEO? I remember doing profile linking during the beginning, but then found out that blog commenting was much more enjoyable so I did that. But then I heard that by doing only one type of backlinking will get you sandboxed, is this true?

    You need to diversify your link building. Write articles, build forum profiles, post blog comments, etc. It looks much more normal to Google.

    I agree, I like blog commenting more, too. But unlike others, I actually read the blog before I post (most of the time), so I end up learning a lot. Getting sandboxed is something I'm unfamiliar with because I've never had it happen to me or anyone I personally know.

    well, i don't know exactly, but i think google won't sandboxed your sites if you just doing blog commenting for off page. You don't have to build all off page seo. IMO, google love many kind of backlink building types than only doing 1 type..

    Yes, blog commenting did really good.
    In my place, I only do Forum Posting it's like blog commenting strategy.
    These strategies are not bad as long as you will improve and add some techniques soon for your website.

      Just pick up your favourite blogs in your niche and keep commenting constantly !

      I tried that out myself for over 20 days consecutively and my blog traffic was went to roof

    It is not true,But diversify and balance your link building strategy by getting links from various places.That gives best effect in long run.

    Mix it up for long term results. (And to help stay under the radar.) I love blog commenting too. One of the easier ways to get PR1+ links. It's definitely more time consuming, especially since not all of your comments will be approved. But it's worth it in the long run.

    Blog comments are effective at the moment, but what happens when Google releases another update and completely de-value the significance of blog commenting? Your sites lose rankings, and your business dies.

    Now I'm not saying this is going to happen, but this is one of the many reasons why you need to be building lots of different types of links. Google LOVES sites that have a variety of links, it just looks more natural and will really help your rankings.

    If you want better results, it would be much better if you will do other link building methods. I don't think that you will get sandboxed if you focus on one method only. But for better outcome, you better mix it up with other methods.
