Would You Consider This A Good Keyword?

Hey all,

I am building a site around one domain in particular. It has 5,600 local search, the CPC fluctuates between 90 cents - 1.20 and while there is competition it is pretty low. I have no doubt I will reach the number spot.

My concern is that it isn't as much of a buyer keyword like "BUYFENDERGUITAR." The stats look pretty good but I am a bit on the fence and really was hoping for a little clarity.

My question is, do you think this is a good keyword?

Thank you Warriors!

If you say 5,600 local search per month, that is around 165 searches per day and you should also know that you will not get all those search traffic to your site.

If you are talking about CPC than in that case i think you want to monetize using Google Adsense and in that case i will not say it is a good Keyword to work for. You would be making very less. Just my opinion.

Steve, it sounds to me that this is indeed a good keyword to target. Go for it!

It sounds like you are confident in getting the traffic, Steve, so you just need to work out what you'll do with that traffic.

If it isn't a buyer's keyword then you won't be selling anything.

Are you going to turn them into return visitors so when they are ready to buy they'll by from you?

The traffic isn't really there for a CPM based advertising model so you probably won't get much return going that route.

I guess you are talking about AdSense then...

Check some of sites in your potential market and see what ads are being shown there. Would a person searching for your keyword click the ads you see on other sites? (Remember that the content network is based on themes and not keywords. The CPC you are seeing is purely for the search network. You'll only get a fraction of that on the content network.)

Are there many advertisers on related sites or do the ads start to show unrelated or more general type of things?

What's your goal for the site? Are you planning on fleshing it out or just focusing on the one keyword? If you are just going for that one keyword then lets say you get to #1...

5,600 exact/month = 187/day. The #1 spot will get say 50% of that traffic so you may get 93 visitors per day from that one keyword. You might be lucky and get an average CPC or $0.50c so with a click through rate of 5% you can make $2.32/day from that 1 keyword. Double your CTR and take home $5/day.

Do you think it's a good keyword now? Only you know that.

Thank you all for this feedback. I am not sure how I will monetize it yet. It's in the health niche so there are a lot of products to promote. I am thinking of using adsense for articles, reviewing a few products that I know I could get ranked in the top 3 of GOOGLE and collect emails to sell them to build relationship and sell products later.

What do ya'll think of this idea?
