Backlinks are the backbone of any SEO campaigns. Any good seo campaign is backed by good baclinks building strategy. Though other factors are important but backlinks are the most significant one. You should have a mix of good number of backlinks coming from various relevant resources to keep under google radar. Off course you should not ignore the high authority and High PR sites along with .edu and .gov sites. If you have implemented a good backlink strategy you will get high rankings as well as a large number of free traffic.

In my opinion backlinks are the only or the best way to increase website ranking. It requires extensive efforts but you get the result out of it. If your site ranks well and has a good content you can earn a reasonable amount through Google adds..

Yes, you need to have good quality backlinks from high PR sites if possible so you in return get good PageRank. Google trusts sites and gives more authority and as a result better rankings to sites with good PageRank.

In my personal experience, I have found out that backlinks are more important than any other thing when it comes to seo. I say backlink is the king!

I used to believe other wise, but working with my own site and seeing how backlinks helped me more than any other thing to rank for my keywords and get traffic and now I am making real money with it.
