Getting better page rank on Bing

I was having a wander around the net to find current information on how to rank better on Bing.

I did find this from 2009 (not very current I know) Bing SEO – How to Get Top 10 Rankings in Bing.com | ineedhits

I'm just very interested to hear of Warriors who've seen a change in their Bing ranking and how they approach being ranked well on Bing compared to their Google one.

I've tended to be very Google focused but obviously the recent posts here have really made me think about Bing a lot more.

Open to debate and sharing on this topic.

  I'm not 100% convinced of Matt Cutts' sorta/kinda/maybe claims about Bing.
  
  For instance, I wrote a blog article regarding an interview Willie Crawford did with Terry Brock a while back and it's still sitting at number one on Google. But on Bing I simply can't find it. It may be there I just don't see it when I type in those same keywords. I haven't done a deep search granted.
  
  So how are they actually copying results? I know their Google's screen shots seem to imply this but I'm not convinced at all.

The ranking positions for my sites in Google are much the same in Bing.

All my sites rank slightly higher in Bing, some sites only by a few positions & others by several pages.

  That's really interesting Barry because mine don't. My Google rankings seem way ahead of my bing for most sites that I have.

My Google rankings have also been way ahead of my Bing rankings so I don't think that they contain the same algorithm.

My google rankings have always out ranked BING... personally I dont rate BING as much of a search engine....

its as good as Internet explorer in my opinion waste of space :-)

  Fair pov Danny and I must admit when my clients ask about rankings they always say Google (never Yahoo and never Bing) That's where they know and that's where they seem to want to be seen.
  
  I was just curious because of Google's general dominance.

My sites have not always ranked as well in Bing but they have increased slightly over time.

I decided to take a closer look to compare my sites between Google & Bing. I’ve found there’s not much difference, with the exception of a few

Here’s a run down of some of my sites so you can see the comparison.

----Google Bing
Site1: 3 -- 3
Site2: 1 -- 1
Site3: 2 -- 2
Site4: 14 --15
Site5: 6 -- 3
Site6: 6 -- 10
Site7: 1 -- 5
Site8: 50 --17
Site9: 55 -- not in 100

  Cheers Barry. I appreciate you sharing your stats. I'm still not sure how they work out who ranks better than Google though. Maybe it is to do more with the anchor texts?

My site seem to rank higher on Google than Bing I believe google crawls more frequently and picks up my posts faster? Check out my site in signature looking to build my Link directory and I am offering free backlinks.

According to this source How To Rank In Bing « Jonathan Leger, Bing now accounts for 30% of searches. Bing differs from Google in that it places additional weight in the following factors:

1. Editorial links (or what I would call citations, although that definition has a variety of meanings as well)

2. Exact name domains

3. More content on pages

Hello,

According to me a search engine has it's own criteria to rank the site so the best way is to keep on updating yourself with search engine's criteria and try to put some quality content in your sources.

I think bing just copies everything from google search. And there are very few people who actually use bing as search engine. Google is the king of search engines.

I really wouldn't discount bing. It might have been ****e in the past but it's definitely gaining more users. Yahoo also uses bing's engine if you didn't know that already, so you get twice the traffic from bing and yahoo, even though both combined does not match google's traffic. It's approx. about 70-30 but still 30% is a good number.
