Need Some Traffic Advice

Hi guys,

I think this is the only place where I can get some quality advise from members since I noticed that most people here are using effective tactics in generating traffic on their website and eventually convert that traffic to sales..

I'd been doing internet marketing for more than a year now and I use some traffic technique that is very effective for my niche.. But the down fall is I'm paying money for that traffic source. ( about $200 monthly ).

My question is, is there any traffic method that is so effective whether I do it locally in our country or globally wherein I don't have to pay that much?

      Thanks for the reply Mike.

I think ppc, ppv will not gonna bring me profit for the niche I'm in... I spent $200 monthly but I'm getting around 500-1,500 view on my salespage... I think ppc will just give you less clicks and my $200 will not even last for months...^_^ Probably ppc or ppv will just eat my money for just a day..

Media buys, like banner ads might work if the ad site offer unlimited clicks for a fixed monthly price... Do you have any recommended site I should look for that gives unlimited quality traffic for a fixed price?

I thank you for the reply MrDay..

Free traffic is always good but the downfall of it is you have to spend hours to do things manually...

But how many months do you spent to generate traffic using those methods?

You could always outsource these traffic methods. That way, you pay for them one time and they can drive traffic to your site for months or even years. You can actually get lots of article submissions, directly submissions, social bookmarks, and blog commenting done on Fiverr. The $200 you spend monthly could go a long way when you are only paying $5 for each task.

This is very helpful Kecia, Thanks!

          I'll definitely check this out...

Currently I'm only using organic and free traffic methods.

Most of my traffic comes from the search engines and social media, or word of mouth.

Here are some of my favorite ways of getting free traffic.

    *seo
    *social media
    *networking
    *web 2.0 sites
    *guest posting
    *article directories
    *free press releases
    *blog commenting
    *interacting on forums
    *pinging
    *giving something away for free
    *holding some sort of contest

For me most of my money traffic comes from the search engines, and targeted traffic from my articles and social networking sites.

    Hope that helps.

Mr. Day is right. have you tried incorporating these methods to improve your traffic? I think using Twitter is a great way to get hits, especially once you build up a solid ff. from your niche. Facebook is also a great media that you can consider. Participating in forums such as this one is also good strategy to attract targeted traffic. All these platforms can work to your advantage, just learn how to use the proper way and you should be fine

  • Hi Greed4money,

Anong balita? Hahaha... That's a well used opening statement here in the Philippines, when in fact you aren't asking for any news at all, just an opening statement and nothing else...

Your own products and service offers? Affiliate products? CPC/CPM? CPA? Which of these? It'd be useful for me to know this since different traffic generation techniques are effective for any of these...

Hi Thanks for the response Vergel,

I'm actully asking questions here and assuming to get quality replies... I just gave some example on how I generate traffic on my webpage and how much I spent on it..

So I'm just getting some insights from the members here if they know anything that would give traffic that would cost me less than $200 month...

      • Hi Greed4money,

Different monetization methods require particular traffic generation techniques. That's why I'm asking for the specific set of monetization strategies you use on your website/s. For example: I see your sig links point to site/s about work at home opportunities among others. You can launch a Facebook advertising campaign, but for what purpose? If you're offering a digital info product that can help your target viewers start working at home to earn income online: Then FB advertising would be good, because people spend time there while they also subconsciously think about ways to improve their career, finances, physical appearance and relationships. After all: It's a social network, so people think about "social" things when spending time in Facebook, more specially since they see how far their friends have gotten to, in terms of these "social" things...

For instance: I launched a Facebook advertising campaign last month. Targeted people here in the Philippines interested in working inhouse or homebased as an English content writer. The ad pointed to a page on our website with more details about the job post. After two weeks: I had 84 clicks, spent $40 all in all, got 32 interested applicants, hired 12 inhouse writers and 4 homebased ones. That's 16 employees, each one will be earning wages while I also increase the net profits of my company by 13%. As I shared in this thread, that means $1300 per month additional net profits from my company, recurring net income, that is...

Though if I were selling an ebook about working at home to earn extra income on the Internet: I'd hire a content writer, train this person in softsell marketing communications, ask this person to write articles about keywords, topics and sub topics relevant to work at home to earn money online subject areas for about a week to hone this person's knowledge about relevant specialized topics, then ask this person to spend time helping other members of forums with discussion pages contextually relevant to those topics. This will provide me with better results than a Facebook ad campaign, primarily because: Most Facebook users interested in relevant topics would want to earn income online without buying anything first, over buying something which will guide them in doing so. Yes, the FB ads would get clicks, though that's low converting traffic. Web forums dedicated to similar topics, on the other hand, have members prepared to buy helpful ebooks and software among others useful for their interests and purposes. And: They'd buy those products once the seller establishes his or her reputation as a friendly, expert resource of beneficial content, products and services in those online communities. Makes sense now? Another example:

If I were promoting CPA offers interesting and hard to ignore for college students in North America, I'd deploy three traffic generation methods, particularly:

        •FB advertising...
        •Forum marketing, and...
        •Offline advertising...

For all three methods: I'd choose one university in the US with students most likely interested in those CPA offers...

For FB advertising: I'll create an ad targeting people in areas where the university I chose stands...

For forum marketing: I'll hire someone who lives in those areas and is a student of that particular university to spend time helping other members of their university online forum. This person will answer questions, inquiries and other things relevant to subject areas covering my CPA offers...

For the offline method: I'll hire someone living in an area near the university I chose and is a student of that particular university...

The FB ad will have an enticing description that tells those students to go to a page of my website where my CPA offers are displayed if they are students of the specific university I chose. It'll also inform them about the real prizes they could win from the contests promoted by those pages just by completing any of the CPA offer forms and subscribing to my mailing list. Those pages will also display video and written testimonials from other students, collected as each contest ends...

The forum marketing campaign will also drive other university forum members to those pages...

The offline method will involve coupon printouts displaying similar things in my FB ad. The student I hired will go to the rooms in those university buildings minutes before classes start and place those coupons on each desk...

Which would provide me with the best value for my marketing money? Most likely the offline method, though the first two could still possibly give me net profits from the money I invested, so it'll be good to continue with those campaigns as well, provided you have enough marketing money to fund all three campaigns. Otherwise: I'd go with option three, use what I earn to do option one, then use what I earn from those two options to fund option two, in case my results dictate me to do so, all for the benefit of my company, those students I'm targeting, the people I hired to implement those strategies and of course Facebook...

SEO takes time but cheaper on the long term comparing to other paid sources. Conversion? Depends on your keyword of course.

You should try PPC first and estimate the potential conversion, if profit is good, you can go with that Keyword.

Harnessing the ignorant on Facebook can be a good traffic source both locally and globally. This will depend slightly on the niche itself. It does however guarentee a certain level of targeted traffic, which is really good.

Be carefull of paying for traffic! Most of them are scams and they get their traffic from google bing and yahoo.

Try to get your site in the organic search results, seek long tail keywords with low competition and high search volume for exact match, global and local.
    hope this helps
