As many of you have, I as well have been greatly effected since May and especially June and things seem to be getting even worse.

I just noticed that on my sites which have been effected, that the google cache has not been updated in a while.

One site the cache date hasnt been updated since May 2011 and my main site says not since June 6th...the exact date I noticed a big drop in traffic.

Since then Ive added several articles to my site one about 12 days ago and they're still not indexed.

So have a look at your own sites to see if the cache date hasnt updated recently.

What can we take from this....I still dont know:confused:

Cache is a great indicator of how Google likes your website.

How often are you building backlinks to your site? What type of backlinks have you been building?

Exactly. If you regularly update your site, it should be getting indexed at the same interval of time. If you update daily, then Google indexes daily.

Cache has been an issue for my site as well. It use to cache about once an hour (or less). Now it takes weeks/months. Doesn't make sense.

My site is link building, but maybe not fast enough. I have lots of PR4 - PR5 home page backlinks as well..

Gear- how is the content on your website? How often is it updated?

The reason I ask, one of my websites has excellent content updated regularly (4-5 times a day) and the posts get indexed/cached in minutes, literally.

Another of my sites has outsourced articles that aren't that great and updated around 3-4 times a month. That website generally gets cached 3 times a month. I also have a few other sites that fallen into this category.

The content is really good. I get some nice comments on the blog as well. I use to publish one article per day, but have cut back due to financial constraints and deciding to take Sundays off. To be honest, I cut back on publishing content to about 4-5 article per week because how demoralizing the farmer update hit me so bad.
