How to get QUALITY backlinks

I have been interviewed by media... tv stations, newspapers... before and as a condition of the interview, video, requested a link to my site. That makes a high quality link, I'm sure. So, I would think I could seek new interviews and get some more links. Other than that, how can you get really high-quality links when you are a for-profit business. I got those interviews because they considered me an expert in this niche. Sans going for interviews, which is time-consuming, any advice on how to get high-quality links? This is a narrow niche and there aren't that many sites and even less that don't perceive you as the enemy if you are a for-profit enterprise.

I am assuming that super high-quality link is something related to your niche. On the other hand, someone suggest getting a link from Brittanica, and I don't know if that was in jest or can you really do that? Heck, even Wikipedia, can you can even get a link on there if you write a good article or edit an existing one? (I really don't know how you get authority to write on Wikipedia, I just figured it's a high-quality link.)

  Look into article syndication, link bait, link building networks, high PR blog commenting, etc.

With all those back links from media companies, and given that you are in a narrow low competition niche, and that you are an expert presumably with expert written content on your site, you must already be ranking high on page 1?
If not perhaps you need to consider if your site itself is SEO'ed.

write "guides" and syndicate them. I've found that some of the news agencies will link to quality guides, especially if it really does help people.
There is one known news agency that happened across one of my guides and had it linked out from her news report, which was on the front page of their site for a time. An instant boost in serps from that one.

I have another guide for parents and video game systems that I posted to Ezinearticles and now resides on dozens of websites in the same niche. Some have also stolen it from my blog, and left the links in. And it isn't that good of a guide. It took me about an hour to write it.

Search "parents guide to video game systems" and have a look through the first several pages. You'll find it on quite a few sites. You can tell it's mine because it starts off with "At HomeComputerGames.com we get a lot of emails" :rolleyes:

Oh yeah, try and fit the name of your website into the guide, even if it isn't linked back. It still comes through on Google alerts informing me of it's use.

Here's another that I wrote for my son's business : beginners lawn care guide - sits on page one without any effort on backlinks and does generate traffic.

Sounds like you had a good method to get nice links.

Guest blogging is another one that has always worked well for me. Since you are already considered an expert, and already have links from reputable news sites then this shouldn't be hard as the credibility is already established.

Contact bloggers in your industry/niche and ask if they accept guest blogging. Reference the fact hat you've been featured by news, other sites already by providing links to them and briefly talk about your blog post idea.

9/10 they'll accept without thinking twice. Then write a kick ass post, with a link of course, and bam a nice solid quality link.

Make sure you aren't wasting your time on the blog post either so be sure the blogs have high PR, decent traffic (check via Alexa/Compete and their advertising pages). That way you'll get the best results and most exposure.
