What are some ways people use SEO, SEM, and SMM? I've been using Google Analytics and AdWords for SEO and the usual outlets for SMM i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.
I wouldn't say im a SEO expert but I do know a couple of things but wouldn't hurt to hear more tips from other people.

      SEO contains two "section":
      Off-page- Where you create backlinks for your website.
      On-page- Where you create content for your own website.

      Investigate both of these methods!
      Yea, do some reading about SEO and you will find that it's not that hard once you get the full picture. At the end of the day it all comes down to on-page and off-page.

          Probably the most important tip I can give you is to diversify your links. Google loves seeing websites that have a diverse portfolio of links and will reward them accordingly.

          So focus on building links through blog commenting, forum profiles, edu links, social bookmarks, web 2.0. Then backlinks these backlinks. Quite advanced SEO but very effective.

            Agreed! So many people focus on just one method of building backlinks. This may have worked a few years ago, but Google seems to be placing more and more of an emphasis on diverse backlink sources.

    Hi all,

    There are guidelines and techniques on SEO that you can learn from many sources.

    I guess that people all want to appear on top 10 results from Google and usually top 10 results get 80% of sales / business.

    If you want to SEOs then just start look at your web content as individual page. Look at title , description, your very first header as on page. Using
    relevant keywords that are on your content. Dont overstuff with keywords
    on your content, it may harm your ranking...Well there are lots to say. Just
    a quick tip for people who are interested and note that there is no short cut
    to SEO , you need to work on it.

    Adwords and Analytics have nothing to do with SEO. As far as SEO is concern, You just need to concentrate on On-page and Off-page optimization

    Sketch a table and compare the following items of the sites in first and second page of a search engine for your targeted keyword:

    - Keyword Density
    - Domain Age
    - Backlinks
    - Number of pages
    - Page Rank
    - Alexa Ranking
    - ...

    At the end, you will come to a conclusion what search engines like.
    In most cases, keyword density, backlinks and domain age dominate.

    Google Analytics is just a tool to monitor your traffic. However, it can help you decide which keywords should be given more attention to make them more effective. Adwords on the other hand belongs to SEM and not SEO.

    If you focus on SEO, you have to study more on-page and off-page optimization. With on-page, just make your site coding error free, have everything from title tags, meta tags, and content relevant and keyword rich. With off-page, do link building through directory submission, blogging, article writing and submission, forum posting, social bookmarking, etc.

    In SEO You mainly have to learn two things on site and off site SEO .In on site SEO you have the full control but in off site SEO you dont have control.In on site SEO you work with your site,site content,structure,meta,design,keywords,domain etc and in off site SEO its all about getting backlinks.
