right on point. you need to know SEO but if you don't know you could hire people to help you. but it's best your learn yourself....you're online to make money not to spend money...unless you have a very big project with a relatively high ROI then you can higher a good SEO for a very low fee to save your own time and the hassle.

This is very right the moment you learn SEO and be in a position to implement it using the keyword and the theme your articles with the LSI keywords, you are good to go.

    Uhmmm... NO!

My first year in IM, all my Adsense traffic was from related niche forums (free traffic).

You can make money online in MANY different ways. SEO is just one strategy. Use of social networks such as Facebook is another. You just need to think a little outside the box.

from what I've been gathering , it sounds like advertising for a brick
and mortar business .... Does this make sense and let me ask what's
the best methods to generate traffic ? .... I see that this make money online

SEO is just one of many ways to make money online. There are other ways of making money online aside from learning SEO. Yes, learning SEO is good. But if you aim to make money online, SEO is not just the only way. As they've said, there are many online marketers that don't know SEO but has the capacity to earn online.

Since you want to make money with your blog seo would be good way to make money but that really depends on whats your blog is about, if its very targeted to one subject seo would be great, but if its a very general blog about lots of things you cant really target the blog to a single keyword witch may be important to a comlete SEO newbie. I wouldn´t try to rank for over three keywords excecpt if the keywords are pretty similar (for example: dog training, puppy training and train your dog) as a newbie. Seo can take some time to learn and to say if you schould learn it you must say your purpose to learn it, do you want to create many high profit blogs or do you just want more traffic to your blog?

If you want to make many high profit blogs i would suggest you to learn SEO, i would recommend getting a SEO cource about making profitable blogs like Google Sniper by George Brown, a great SEO course that taught me SEO and how to create a profitable blog.

If you just want more traffic to one single blog i would suggest social marketing, just search for it here at warriorforum or google and get started. Im more of a SEO guy so my social marketing skills is unfortunately limited but the concept is bacically getting traffc from sites like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Delicious Etc...

Please tell us the domain of your blog so we can see what money making tactic would work and also tell your purpose of learning seo, is it just for this one blog or do you want to make money with more than one blog?

well, even if you don't learn it now you will need it later. but uh, yeah there is free traffic out there.......don't necessarily have to go down the seo route. but I think you will find yourself with seo eventually anyway.

Bottom line is you need traffic If your trying to make money online (or offline).

SEO is one of many ways to generate traffic to a website.

While your learning seo find other free sources of traffic. Like I said above, my entire first year of traffic was 100% niche forum traffic (free).

Don't let any one source be 100% of your traffic, mix it up, If one fails you still have traffic from other sources to fall back on while you fix the problem.
