If you are outside the US, you probably know that going to google.com will redirect to the Google version of your local country.

This is fine if you want to do local searches, but like most people, the US market is where most people are competing.

So to ensure you are getting Google US results, make sure you go to

http://google.com/ncr

    Hi,
saw few ways for this, but which 1 below correct/most accurate?
    1. google . com/ncr
    2. google . com/search?q=keyword&gl=US
    3. Use google Advanced Search (shld be this rite?)

are the search results same for above 3 ways, i don't think so..

You can also buy a VPN from america, or a Proxy . or even use the free proxy servers you can find in google to obtain and IP address of USA which shows you Google results like USA

    Google
I have to use that sometimes as Google keeps trying to force me to use my local Google site.

However, I would never check SERPS just by Googling in my browser anyway - there are WAY too many other factors affecting rankings these days. I bet you using Google.com from, say, the UK, would still give you different results than if you were Googling from the US. Indeed, the results would differ from state to state, even city to city. So using the ncr switch might not be a great help.

I have sites which rank wildly differently depending on the proxy or rank checker I use - I mean, one will show the site at like 25, the other will show it at 105. It's getting trickier and trickier to get accurate rankings, especially for local-type searches.
