I am setting up some sites for amazon reviews and i am using the niche research tool of SENuke X to help me decide on keywords to shoot for and a funny thing has happened. for almost every product i do research on (Lets say for just an example, red apples) i find the key phrase with the most searches and the least amount of competition is something along the lines of "what is the best red apple" from this research it would make sense to have a domain url of www.whatisthebestredapple.com but when i do searches in google, it turns out no one has this phrase in the URL but usually as a title. would it HURT me to use it in my URL as WELL as my title? just curious for some input from people who have more experience in this area than myself. thank in advance.

If "what is the best red apple" the keyword you are after, definitely put it also in your title. I always o it twice, make sure it's also in your H1, H2 and H3 tags, metatags and description. On site SEO is very important if you are after a certain keyword, but with an Exact keyword domain you have a very good chance ranking #1 with little effort, especially with a .com.

    I hope this helps

      Hi

I would consider this an opportunity...getting a phrase which has significant searches, less competition and people not having the exact phrase in their url

buy it now if it has significant searches

The people who have the phrase in their title might have got better and shorter domain names so they bought them and they are targeting the phrase with their title

they might be targeting many similar phrases too

      thanks

i definatly plan to use it in my title. H1, H2 tags ect. im just curious why i havent seen anyone use a domain with "whatisthebestproductx" format. I was wondering is there was some downside to it. everyone seems to use the format productx.com or bestproductx.com and then have the phrase "what is the best product x" as their title and such. just curious why no one uses that type of phrase as a url

  • Arkhamindustries,

Like you, I too am surprised people would search 'what is the...' instead of 'best....'. Found another person who has used the search title 'what is the.....' for a product in the name of the website.

Maybe this will be the next new trend in domain names!

Well make sure and check the google keyword tool. Maybe that exact phrase doesn't have many searches. When i search google I don't search in question format. Putting it in the title makes it interesting while still getting the keyword in it.

i never use question format when searching google for something either but i know a lot of people that do. When using the niche research tool of senuke X, it relies heavily on the google keyword tool so yes, the phrases i am looking at have only around a hundred other results competing for the same phrase while usually having an average of between 1000-2000 searches

how many average monthly searches should i be aiming for?

That's good if it's exact searches. I'm not familiar with the senuke tool so maybe you should check the google tool and check the box that says exact. Sounds to be enough to me though, if the competition is reasonable.

The minimum number of searhes to look out for
depends on your strategy for the web site that
            you are building.

It seems likely that your building a small sniper
            type sight.

I like a minimum of 5000 thousand total searches.

            Domain KW 2000 post a kw 1000 post b 500 c post 1,500 =5000 searches

In reality your post search numbers will usually be less so just add more kw reviews.

            Hope this helps you out

Exact match domains are impossible...I've never been able to snatch one.

Many people shorten the phrase to include keywords but use only two or three words so it is easy to remember and fast to type into the browser. They use the full phrase in their title. Your choice of domain often depends on the type of site you want to build. In this case a review site might do well with this type of domain.I have not had much luck with long titles. An aged domain can rank quickly with some seo, especially if it has links already. I have both exact match and aged and I find with the exact match they can rank quickly and lose rank quickly, while aged domains continue, especially if they already have page rank.
