Hi Guys

I have been doing alot of blog commenting on alot of dofollow blogs with high pr and i have a great list of low obl or should i say i think i do.

Two questions i have tho is how do i count obl ? Do you count just websites that are linking out to other web pages or do you count links linking to other pages on the same site as obl links aswell ?

The other is do you count nofollow links out to other sites ? Say for example the page allowed a dofollow link for you name on the comment but if you put another anchor text in the comment linking out then it would be nofollow, do i count these as obl aswell ?

Thanks for any help

Chris

    1. Only count the external links.

    2. Don't count no-follow as OBL because no-follow doesn't give any PR juice.

    Cheers

when blog commenting, you shouldn't really care about OBL or dofollow/nofollow. Just get the links, it will look more natural if you're doing it that way anyway.

    Thanks for the reply's

How can a nofollow effect link juice ? Whats the point in nofollow then ?

Also why is there such a thing called obl ? If there wasnt a difference between them and internal links ?

      Hi chris187

Links with the nofollow attribute do not pass link juice, however those links still dilute the link juice. You cannot use the nofollow attribute to prevent the bleeding of link juice and that is why you never benefit from placing the nofollow attribute on links that point to your internal pages.

The point of using the nofollow attribute is to let Google know that you don't necessarily trust page that is being linked to, mainly used to reduce the incentive for users to spam comments.

The terms outbound and inbound refer to the direction in which the link points, while term internal or external in this context refers to the physical location of the webpage.

When you link two web pages together the link points from one page toward the other. The term "outbound link", or OBL, provides context in a discussion so that you know which direction the link is pointing. If a link points toward the page you are discussing then you refer to it as an "inbound link". If the link is placed on the page, that is the subject of your discussion, and it points towards a different page, then it is referred to as an outbound link. It is still an outbound link, regardless of whether the page it points toward resides on the same website or an external website.

All links from a page get a fair share of the link benefit and that includes the nofollow links.

The nofollow links link benefit is deleted though.

So count them all and you get one share.
