Youtube list?

Alright, I got a Youtube channel, with over 1,000 subscribers already, and its constantly growing. I heard from some of my other IM friends, that I can make money from this and they mentioned about building a list? I am quite new to the IM world, and have no idea what exactly is a list? As in a email list? Like solo ads I see people selling here? And how actually can I create my list with my Youtube subscribers I currently have?

Help appreciated.

    You can't spam email your subscribers.

    You can post a bulletin, which should go to all subscribers.
    But the subscriber has to login to youtube in order to view
    the message. Many people turn off notifications.

    If you try and spam IM ads, you will probably be deleted.

    I think youtube also has limits as to the amount of messages
    you can send at a time in an effort to avoid exactly what you
    propose.

    A list would be an email list. Try and harvest emails in a different
    way and use a 3rd party list program.
