Weird Adsense Earnings

OK so I started internet marketing in the beginning of May and according to Google Adsense these are my earnings for May and June:

May: $2.52
June: $11.49

At first I was really excited since I thought to myself "DAM I'M MAKING PROGRESS!!!". But I haven't gotten a single click since June 22 and I'm worried. I checked my rankings through scroogle, rank checker, and clearing my cache and my main keywords are still up there if not higher. Does anyone know what's happening? Is this what's considered google dance except for longer tail keywords?

What's even weirder is that my traffic has stayed the same. Just wondering if anyone else had any similar experience with this.

EDIT: Using Heatmap Pro as my theme. Not sure if this is what's causing me to get low CTR. Also some other info that might be important is that I get about 20-35 unique visitors a day. Even though this seems like a low number of visitors I was getting one or two $1 click about every other day.

Have you checked the other search engines or analytics?

I've got sites that get a ton of clicks and I'm no where to be seen in Google, the traffic comes from Yahoo & Bing only!

Another question, but how many visitors does it take for you to get a click? Or how long does it take one of you new sites to get an adsense click? I'm asking because right now it feels like I'm starting from scratch...still no clicks.

      Hey dude,

Adsense is a weird one! My buddy Pete and I sometimes make Adsense sites, rank them and sell them once they have a good track record.

      Here's an example:

      https://flippa.com/136428-Adsense-Ni...---1-Week-Only

Now, this site only got around 10 - 15 visits per day (on a good day) but was making decent money as you can see.

So we decided to do a real life test and allow people to follow along. You can find the full details here if you're interested but the main thing to note is that the new site gets between 50-60 visitors per day and makes very little at all - not even $1 per day so far and we're using the same theme as the cookers site sold on flippa.

We'll make some changes and try to isolate the reason why some perform and some dont, but so far I've noticed that whether an adsense site does well or badly seems to be a bit of a lottery.

Any Adsense gurus out there? I'd love you input.

      Jimmy

There is no standard number here. You could get a click with the first visitors, at the same time, you could get hundred visitors before you get one click.
It all depends on ad placement, the kind of traffic you are getting, how much your ad stands out or not and etc.

This might be silly question, but are you sure, you still have your adsense code on your site?....

    Hey JimmyWrex,

So YOU'RE the guys with the "HQ" niche sites, eh? I've run across a few of your niches while doing KW research and checking the first page, hehe. I think I've seen your sites for sale on Flippa as well?

I was taking a look at your "cool headphones" case study...pretty cool. I really like your laid-back writing style...that has to be great for beginners. There's another guy I think you might be interested in checking out...Spencer from Niche Pursuits. Great guy, good write-ups, etc.

      Hey TryBPO,

Thanks for the compliment. Yeh we have a few sites with a HQ modifyer and we've sold some stuff on flippa too so you probably have run into us there. Niche sites is where we've made most of our money, so this adsense experiment has been fun for us to look at.

I'll definitely check out Niche Pursuits - sounds similar to what we're all about.

      Take it easy,

      Jimmy

Yes, I still get page impressions. Things get a bit stranger though. I'm still new to the whole internet marketing scene so does a theme effect your CPC? Ever since I've been using the Heatmap Pro theme I've been getting low CPC for the little amount of clicks that I even get.

Internet marketing is all about trying different things and figuring out what works for you. You can switch on to some different theme, try some different placements for your ad units, place text ads instead of image ads as they have the better click-through-rate.
