I'm having trouble logging into Senuke, and cannot access the forum or login to the members area...

Does anyone else have this problem?

Yeh....this isn't the first time this week. Nice, if you schedule a full monthy and your accounts aren't created....or your posts are all failed.

$127 a month...they should have decent hosting

They are under a rather heavy DOS right now... longest I have seen. I spoke with Areeb about it some 6 hours ago and its still ongoing now.

They do have quite decent hosting, which has resisted many previous attacks. Clearly something is a little different things time.

If you schedule something at the moment yes it would fail... an interesting point, I will raise that issue. Perhaps a simple check could be put in place to ensure servers are active and if not delays the schedule for 24 hours.

I know stuff can go wrong...but as I said..Not the first time this week. How would Areeb react on a DOP (Denial of Payment)

Really...I have not a clue on how many people are using Senuke, but I think it's enough to have some decent hosting and backup.

When you use automation tools of this type (which we do). You go into it knowing that things can go wrong with this type of heavy automation. Xrumer, SenukeX have been DOS attacked before. They will be DOS attacked again. They don't have control over that. All they can do is work on the issue when it arises.

I hate when people refer to these types of things with the same expectations as a desktop application. When you purchase these types of services or products **** happens. You couldn't prevent it if you ran the service either.

SENUKE isn't going to run 400+ servers like Microsoft or Google to handover the load when these things happen. They don't have the manpower or resources of a fortune 500 company. I also doubt they want to become one. So when **** happens it happens. You deal with it...

The PROs outweigh the CONs...

I agree, there's not even a single email notification that something went wrong. Just this message when you try logging in " Unable to validate license. Reason: Unable to get a response from the SEnuke server. Most likely there is something wrong with your Internet connection or a firewall is blocking SEnuke's access to the Internet."

I would of thought they could get an elastic IP - this would ensure that if an IP gets a DOS, they could move quite quickly - I doubt the DOS is hitting more than a few IPs at a time - Just my 2 cents - and yet another afternoon wasted because it is down again

I was able to get on their forums for a few minutes this morning and at that time, there was a post saying that the attack had been going on for about 9 hours. Well it's about 6 hours later and it's still down.

I've had to pause all the postings I have running because they were all failing, except for forum profiles. I sure hope that they get this resolved soon. I need to get back to work. I've got clients waiting for results.

I wish the software would run indepenantly of their servers. Just have it check in on log in, then let it run on it's own. I don't need to connect to their servers to let it post all day long. I have 2 systems that are still logged in and they would function, if not for the server tie in issue.

Oh well. All I can do is wait. At least I know I'm not the only one. <grin>

• I agree, for that sum of money every month, you could expect it to work independently after login. there is no real reason for it to connect to their servers each time a campaign runs.

I am kinda dissapointed, lost whole day waiting for it to start working again.

still not working after a full lost day.

The reason more than likely has to do with security....

As someone that has programs that need to connect to a server to authenticate...trust me, it's not because I "like" to do it like that, or because I think it's cool - It's done to make it difficult for people to steal things that I have legitimate customers paying for.

OR

To make it easier to keep the program up to date.
{{ DiscussionBoard.errors[4247904].message }}
• Security or not, trust me, a cracker who want this software will crack it no matter if it calls home or not. i should atleast get an email after some time tells me we are sorry, but we have problems, we will be up in...

this kinda downtime when you can't even login to their support center. is not a way to do business imho.

They should really work on it. people depending on that software.

Agreed, but it's not as easy...and every time a new version comes out, they have to CRACK IT AGAIN...So, it's not as easy as some idiot forwarding an email or just hosting a download.

I don't think that you will find many that will disagree with you on that.

My copy is down just like everyone elses...so, I decided to just push off my SENUKE work for 48 hours to see where everything shakes out instead of checking to see if it was working every hour or so.

Guys, we need to be able to get into our servers to be able to fire off an email. We weren't able to get in until recently either!

And trust me, we've been DDoS'd before and have weathered through the storm pretty easily. This attack was massive though. But we've taken very strong precautions to make sure even heavy attacks won't harm us in the future. My apologies, didn't see it coming.

Well you might want to wait a little bit until they get the servers back up. Right now, NO ONE can log into SE Nuke X. And it's because of the denial-of-service attacks. So hold on and once they come back up, you might be able to log in just fine.

And yes, I agree with all those comments above. I have a bunch of orders to input and start running, but I can't until this gets resolved. I'm trying to work on other projects, but it's still pulling me away checking on things because of my pending projects.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened before. The software by design hits sites and servers with ton loads of backlink's left on it that the forum owners don't want. Seems like Senuke's server would have a bullseye on it.

Thanks everyone for their replies.

I'm glad to know Areeb is on the job and the problem is being handled... as much as is possible at this time.

I would like to know though (and I'm sure others do too):

1. How long until the service is back up and running?

2. Will there be any compensation for those who've had downtime due to the issue?

I can see by the many responses to my initial inquiry that there are quite a number of users who have been negatively affected.

Areeb, I'm only a new member, but it's frustrating to know that I've paid for a service that I have not been able to use for the last 24+ hours. Especially when I'm paying for a monthly membership.

I am sorry to hear of the attack though. It's obviously not something easy to plan for, and I hope the issue can be resolved quickly and easily.

It has happened many times before... BUT never on this scale.. they have always brushed it off pretty quickly ...

I suspect a lesson will have been learnt here... and new systems will be in place.. BUT remember even huge corporations have been taken down, so no matter what they do I doubt it will be the last time.

What there does need to be however is a mechanism to stop each persons copy of SEnuke running scheduled tasks if for any reason the server is down.

Problem is if they do that they open the door to make it even easier to run without licensing checks which given the nature of some customers means a nice chunk of people will stop paying for it entirely and run bootlegs.

There seems to be a two segment divide of Senukex customers

1. The major fans who will defend the software till the end
2. The customers who feel there are not getting value for money from the service

Me..I sit somewhere in the middle(nothing like sitting on the fence is there, it's always the best view).

What other options are out there that do the same job with such ease?

If there isn't maybe someone/a team should develop such software.

I've got an email from the SEnuke team stating the reason for there downtime. Also sounds like there about to roll out further developments to the software as well.

HAHAHA thats funny as I told them that same thing just a few hours ago.. sorry not thinking:

Using SENuke During DNS Propagation -- Today, 6:57 AM

For those of you that want to use your SENuke before the DNS propagates you can do the following..

First you need to search for notepad in Windows then right click on it in the list and choose "Open as administrator" from the menu.

Then you have to locate your "hosts" file in windows which is usually c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

If it you don't find it there then Google it for your version of Windows.

Then you need to add these two IP addresses to the file...

174.37.9.201 www.senuke.com
174.37.9.201 senuke.com

And save it.

If you can't save it still because you don't have administrator rights then you need to right click on the file then choose properties > security > edit > then check modify.

Then save the file, and then restart SEnuke.

YOU MUST change the file back in 3 days time so you don't have any connection problems in the future.

It all depends if your DNS servers have been updated or not.. also you need the none www version to be updated to the new IP for the program to work... so for many people it still does not work at the moment.

K this worked out for me...

just follow the instruction below...

Its all about your DNS servers... and it may work for a while and then they update themselves again with old information and it stops working... normally these things are fixed within 24 hours, but now and then I have seen DNS take up to 3 days to full propogate (which is absurd).

The hosts file fix will hardcode the new IPs and it will work, you do need to reboot after changing the file.. well i did anyway.

Isn't it just Murphy's law? I've been debating myself for a while now whether I should bite the bullet and get with this program, so I did try the trial version on Tuesday, and just after I really got into it it all went belly up!

Everything is still down here in South Africa. Frustrating to say the least.

When it will work - trust me, you will all see that ;-)
DDOS is never easy to solve. Specially - when you're not prepared.
So it takes time, knowledge and investment too.

And even industry giants sometimes get DDOSed and their sites are down for several days. I am talking about - huge corporations.

So - be patient! ;-)

Instead - I have a question for Senukex users.
Howmany indexed links you get roughly from running those "juicy" campaigns from default templates? I have a trial right now. And I am doing some testing. Problem is,that indexer is not working on trial. So that's why I am asking about indexed links.

Thanks.

I think you need to make a separate thread for this as this is related to senuke being down. We might get off topic.

Just wait for the DNS propagation to complete guys.

If by the end of the day tomorrow it still doesn't work for you, PM me your IP address and I will check it out. Due to the DDOS attacks a lot of IPs have been banned, and there could be some false positives, although they should be rare.

I think they need to change the way senuke verifies licenses, right now it seems like any little action such as creating an account on a site or updating the settings triggers a license check. This is not only pointless since crackers/hackers have already found lots of ways around this but it puts a tremendous amount of stress on their resources and as we're seeing now it with this extended down time. If they would just authenticate whenever the program starts we wouldn't have such a big mess.

From the looks of the comments (sorry all I understand about DDOS is that it is SENuke being hacked), this may not get resolved anytime soon. I mean major sites like paypal and others have been hit with this and had wacky results for days.

Just sent out this email guys.

Hey guys,

First of all, my sincere apologies about all that has taken place the last couple of days.

The DDoS attacks have been non-stop since the last 3 days. These guys refuse to give up. It's a shame how low some people can go to destroy another's business.

In the process of mitigating these attacks, our system had to ban thousands of IP addresses. Unfortunately many of these were "false positives", so real customers got banned.

The good news is, those bans only last for 45 minutes to an hour and a half maximum. So if you were able to get into SEnuke earlier, but then weren't able to get in after a while, that would explain why.

Here's what you need to do:

We have just released another update (v1.2.6) which will prevent real customers from going on the temporary ban list. So as soon as you are able to get back into SEnuke, make sure you update to the latest version. Versions prior to 1.2.6 will not work and will get you added to the temporary ban list again.

After you do the update to 1.2.6, everything should be smooth sailing from there.

If you can't get in right now, you're probably on the temp ban list and will need to wait 45 minutes to an hour and a half to be removed from that list.

If you still can't get in after an hour and a half, DNS has probably not yet propagated in your area (it has propagated in 90% of the world already). Even without being able to access senuke.com, you can get in touch with us by accessing our forum through this link:

SEnuke.com • Index page

(If you can't get to that page, then you're still on the temp ban list and will need to wait it out.)

P.S. Our website might still go down from time to time for 15-20 minute intervals as we block new waves of these attacks, but that won't affect the software much once you update to v1.2.6.

Best,
Areeb & The SEnuke Team

How people use it is not under my control Ken, just like any other tool. Even a hammer can be used to kill people.

For this particular reason, I have made it difficult to create more than 3 accounts at a site in one go. Would've been pretty easy for me to give users the ability to create thousands of accounts at each site with one button press, but that would have destroyed the Internet. I still get requests for that feature every few days but turn it down each time.

Plus, every website that has contacted me requesting to be removed from the software, I have honored.

As a matter of fact I get 10 people asking me to add their site into the software for each person that asks to be removed. Keep in mind, these sites get free content too.

P.S. I'm editing this post. I'm up and running with 1.2.6 now. 11:15 pm Eastern time. I hope things stay good. SEnuke rocks. Hate to be without it.

P.P.S. Down again after about 5 minutes of nuking. The site and the software. It's frustrating for me. But I can only imagine what you're going through. I'll try to stay out of your hair and let you figure it all out. Looking forward to better days.

Fotoko I don't know if this is of any assistance but I am in Florida and I can access their main sites and the forums. Don't know if its connected but my service provider has been slow with DNS updates this week. Plus if you have a static IP then you may be on the banned list. If you have a dynamic IP then plugging out your modem when you go to bed and plugging back in the morning often gives you a new one.

Areeb,

In my experience when the website goes down SEnukeX 1.2.6 goes down as well. Then I usually do something on another computer, but I check in on the website periodically. When I see the website up I go back to my SEnuke computer and the software will work. It's been up and down like that for about 3 days.

As far as IPs go, does using proxies (plugged in to SEnuke) have any effect on the banned IP issue you mentioned? If so, what should be done? Thanks!
