Advice please

I have been using Google adwords since Oct last year.
All was ok until December when business just dried up.
Can anyone help me please, in how I should be tackling adwords correctly.

I have skype and can chat via thru that.
I am also not looking for businesses to ply their wares but free advice in laymans language and which is relevent to what I sell
