Hi everyone,

Just wondering when is the best time to start showing ads on my site. It's a new site, not much traffic and not indexed by any SEs. (i have this blocked in privacy) When is a good time to start displaying adsense/amazon ads? Should i wait to be indexed or for 'x' amount of visitors?

Thanks.

If you have content on the page, start showing Ads.

I usually wait until one a site is indexed and getting traffic to enable ads .. (but that's just how I like to do it .. have not really noticed any impact on crawl/index/traffic if I place ads at the start or wait a bit).

One benefit to waiting to place ads is the initial link dev phase .. way easier to get good links to a site that looks pure and helpful .. without ads ..

You have blocked search engines to get indexed your site. If you have enough content and remove the privacy to let search engines index your website, once your site is indexed, you start showing ads. It will bring better results for you.

I always put my ads on right away, before it's even indexed. I guess I've never really thought about it. I just put up my content, place my ads, and move on.

Is there a specific reason you're waiting?

You can add it whenever you want. What is the harm in getting a few clicks while the traffic builds up.Of course, it is another view if you want to wait to develop readership by keeping a ad free site, and then add it later.
