Phrase is a happy medium. Use that

Most of the time, exact match is what you want to use, which is the exact keyword phrase exclusively. Phrase match includes the exact match keyword phrase inside a phrase, and broad is any combination of the word or words. Search around here, there are plenty of other threads that have discussed this at length.

If, for example, you were wondering how many searches the keyword, "Big blue hats" received per month,

[Exact] would give you the exact searches of the keyword.

[Phrase] would give you the total searches of the keyword plus any other reordered phrase "Big Hats Blue" "Blue Hats Big" etc.

[Broad] would give you the total searches of any keyword that has included the keyword "big blue hats" for example, "Where to find big hats that are blue"

So to answer your question, use the [exact] searches.

This isn't exactly true. An phrase match for the keyword big blue hats would be "great big blue hats" or "big blue hats sale". Your example of a phrase match is actually a broad match.

That doesn't make sense. The gakt tool doesn't go that specific.
