      You need to mention one more. It's one for adwords.
      Because your website url appears in the ad, it is paramount
      for adwords that you use either an EMD or domain that makes
      sense for your niche. Google tells you this as well. It's the
      only time I ever push the need for keywords in a domain, or
      similar.

      You also do not need to have the whole url in your ad. Just
      the domain.

      So keyword.com would look better than keyword.com/whatever-long-url.html
      And it is perfectly legal to exclude everything but the domain in your ad.

      This is certainly a good way to utilize a subdomain if your domain does
      not make sense for the potential clicker on your ad.

      That's why you see quite a lot of subdomains in adwords.
      Remember, we are talking adwords/PPC, not SEO.
