Best Backlink Monitor?

I'm using Raven SEO Tools. I don't see a way to have it automatically check backlinks weekly (like it does for SERPS) and then be able to see a graph showing 6 month history of total links and/or total ACRank changing over time. Would also be nice if each report indicates new links and has the option to show links that were on the last report but are not longer active.

Is there a cheap/free service out there that does this? Right now I'm having to manually run reports, export and save them.

I don't understand what you need to see how many backlinks you're at? Just keep building, or use Yahoo Site Explorer.

I agree with you. Yes, it all depends on how our big "G" sees your backlinks, based on that you will be credited or debited on SERP of Google ,

Anyhow, keep on tracking on your backlinks are good, to do so, I usually record all backlinks on excel sheet and used to check whether those are indexed by Google or not and used to ping those often to get quicker index.

In between, I use Backlinkwatch.com which is free of course, but even that does NOT show all the backlinks on my excel sheet

Yes, keep building them will produce results sooner or later. But don't give up and keep doing it.

Yeah... my votes are for (in order):

    MajesticSEO: Majestic SEO: Site Explorer
Yahoo Site Explorer: Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer
Backlink Watch: Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch

Market Samurai has a real good backlink analyzer where it can show you how many links your (or any) site has, and it breaks those links down by PR. Real cool.

Thanks for the share. Aremylinksup.com is a perfect solution. I was looking for something that could centralize all the link tracking. I pay monthly for lot of my backlinks and I wanted to make sure they don't go down without my knowledge. Also it shows PR and stuff. Thanks again.

I checked out aremylinksup.com and it is quite a long and tedious process of getting your links into their system. You have to add them in one by one! For each of my sites, I have in excess of 100,000 links from multiple tiers. I will be old and grey by the time I have manually added all of my links into their system for all of my sites!

aremylinksup.com has no support for adding links in volume, nor do they allow the tracking of links from multiple tiers. I still believe Backlink Monitor is the best tool out there for organising, checking, tracking and analysing your links by tier.

I can add in my urls into the software by simply copy and pasting! There are no limits on the number of urls. There are no limits on the number of projects. No monthly running costs either. Link checks can be scheduled with the built in scheduler and reports can be scheduled to be emailed as well. All of the important metrics are available for analysis too! It is the only tool which can track your links from every tier. So your links which point to your links which point to your money site url can be checked and tracked on automation.

It doesn't get any better than this!

Yeah, the no import functionality is a pain in the butt. That said I emailed them and they said they're in the middle of revamping everything and they're adding import functionality so thank god for that.

I primarily use it for high value links. You definitely don't want to track all your links from all your tiers using it. I mostly use it for tracking paid links and pr network links so I know I'm getting what I paid for on those links.

Once you add more than a handful of those high value links, making sure they all stay online, pr doesn't change, etc, becomes a major PITA.

Just got the demo of this.. How do you possibly get it to check multiple tiers?? I can only put one URL into a project.. If I am building multiple tiers they wont all be to my money site will they?? So do I need a project for every site that is linking in my tiers?

Project 1. check my tier1 backlinks
then I would need a project to check for the tier 2 links to all my different tier 1 sites? So if I build 50 web 2.0's as tier 1 then I would need 50 projects to check the lower tiers to those 50 tier 1's???????

I find that majestic seo are extremely slow at updating their figures with the actual figures which I record myself. For one site of mine, I have physically built over 10,000 links to my domain. Majestic seo still shows only 95 links to the domain! So quite a big difference.

For monitoring and orgainising my links by tier, I use a desktop software which allows me to schedule link checks, check the indexed status of my links, as well as analyse other metrics such as obl's, anchor text and no follow status.

It also has a filter option, which allows me to select my links by a combination of the above metrics, before loading the urls into another campaign. So keeping track of my links and building more links to my links is a lot easier and quicker when you have a tool such as backlink monitor.

The software only costs $39.95 and is a one off purchase. So certainly very inexpensive for what it does. I have done a training video explaining how I use it. You can find it on my site and you tube channel.

I am unable to share a link to the video as I have not hit the 15 post count yet! This is my first post!

The problem with using any of these external data sources is that they will NEVER give you the full SEO picture on your links. All of these data sources are very poor at reporting on the total number of links pointing to your site.

They also fail to report on links which point to your links. They only report on tier 1 links. So if you build link pyramids, you can not track these links with external data sources.

I just tried backlink watch on my sickseo site and once I had got past those annoying pop up ads, it told me I had ZERO links and that I should go and build some! I also looked at majestic seo and it says that I have 95 links going to my home page! It's been saying that for a few weeks now.

Well, I know for a fact that I have 25,313 active backlinks. I also know that 57% of my links are indexed. I also know that 25,000 of these live links are do follow and that 313 links are no follow! I can also see the exact anchor text for each of these live links including those "anomalies" which often appear when building links.

How do I know all of these statistics for my site when backlinkwatch tells me I have zero links? It is because I use a desktop software to track and analyse all of my links from any of my tiers. It is called backlink monitor by a company called Inspyder Software.

I have been beta testing for a few months now and have managed to make enough feature requests to get the tool developed to the stage it is at now. I am a full time SEO, so the features which this desktop software now has programmed in are perfect for an seo.

Seriously, if you do seo and want to stay in control of your links. Then this is the only tool I use and certainly the only tool I also recommend to others.

I have also taken the time to create a demonstration video which is an hour long, showing how I use the tool to make my own seo decisions for my sites. Once you have watched the video, I will be extremely surprised if anyone says that these external data sources are better or even accurate!

    They simply are not!

The backlink checker for discovering new links does sound interesting ... shall have to test it out! So far, every backlink checker I have tried fails to report on a good majority of links that actually exist. My own sickseo site has well over 20,000+ links across multiple tiers. Majestic SEO just updated to say I have 5000! It does not know about the other 15,000. Plus it does not report past tier 1 links!

BacklinkWatch says I have zero and seems like a website filled with ads rather than providing me with a backlink checking service! Every backlink checker I have tried thus far says my site has zero links! Bit of a joke really! Interesting to see what your backlink checking service will report on my site!

They also have high monthly recurring costs for volume users such as myself. I am not a fan of services which have high monthly recurring costs! Especially when they are not accurate. Lol!

As for monitoring links which are live, how many tiers of links does your service monitor up to? Many of my projects now go up to 14 tiers of links with 100,000+ links in each project! Can your service handle the monitoring of these types of links across multiple tiers? Is this going to be expensive?

I do appreciate your offer of a discount. Personally, I am quite happy with using Backlink Monitor as there are no monthly subscription costs. I only paid once for a lifetime license, so using this tool works out to be far more cost effective than using any online service. If you could match what backlink monitor does at a lower price, then I would have a reason to look at your service!

You also didn't mention whether your service can monitor 14 tiers of links? I assume it only tracks tier 1 links and no higher?

  • I personally feel BackLink Monitor and BackLink Watch tools are the best tools to monitor and watch backlinks and the reason I recommend using both these tools because it is free.

    Benefits of BackLink Monitor

    1) It monitor provides quite in-depth information and getting alerts through email is the best option, so you don't need to keeping checking each day to see the detailed report.
    2) The most distinctive features are graph in the overview dashboard and ability to increase backlinks quality and site traffic based on keyword positioning.

    3) You can easily demonstrate & find quality backlinks and avoiding potentially negative ones.

    Benefits of BackLink Watch:

    1) With this tool you can identify all links to your website, as well as phrases associated with the link and anchor-text.

    2) You can also get useful data as page rank, anchor text, total page links outbound. Also you can flag any inbound link as "nofollow".

    3) Free-to-use, user friendly and no need to download.

However, if you want to know more about both these tools you can check out the articles on Tools to Monitoring and Watch backlinks here: https://www.linksmanagement.com/backlink-monitor-watch/
