For an amazon associates site, what is a good conversion rate (i.e. number of people who make a purchase through the amazon affiliate link)?
#amazon #conversion #rate

I've seen some people talk about getting as high as 8%. I usually average around 4% myself.

4% is actually more than I was expecting, I thought the average was like less than 1%.

If marketed correctly 1%-2% is decent enough, though 8% is really something to aim for.

It also depends highly on the keyword... If it's a keyword with high commercial intent, then 8% is feasible.

Last couple months, I've had a 7-8% conversion. It's my only site though, about 110 Amazon clicks a month. I've been testing stuff on it as I learn and plan to roll out more sites, so I'm not sure if that conversion rate is realistic as I send more and more people through to Amazon.

When people talk about their Amazon conversion rate, they usually talk about the figure on the Amazon site itself, which is kind of misleading.

If 100 people visit your site, 10 click on an Amazon link and 5 of those people buy 2 items each, the site will say you had a 100% conversion rate. Obviously, that's pretty misleading.

Don't Clickbank promoters usually consider conversion rate as the % of people that visit their site and buy something?

The figure on Amazon itself reflects clicks through to Amazon, and how many people actually bought something.

People visiting your site and clicking through to Amazon would be your CTR.

I haven't had any luck with Amazon as of yet. But my traffic is going up so that may change soon.

I've been hovering around the 6-10% mark personally from product links.

But like matt says, the more important thing is how many people are visiting, how many are clicking through to your links, and how many are making purchases.

I have from 1%-8% and with different products, this is vary. And I think this is depend on content, layout also. When I changed the poor content to good post, the conversion rate increased.

Always aim for higher %'s of course ...

I average 6 - 10% as well. So it IS POSSIBLE to get these type of percentages!

Depends on what keywords you use. You can easily get 25%+ conversion rates or higher on Amazon (or anywhere else for that matter) if you target the product buyer keywords.

The conversion rate normally changes and it is not constant. I think the conversion rate will improve when more traffic visits the site.
