Anchor Text Confusion

I've been confused about a specific scenario regarding anchor text. Maybe some of you knowledge in SEO can help me with this one...

Example:
Say I was getting backlinks for a sports website. Within a forum, I have three separate anchor texts which include 'sports news', 'basketball news', and 'football news'.
Now, say these three anchor texts go to the same root URL, but three different pages within the URL, ie the sports news goes to home.com, the basketball news goes to home.com/basketball and the football news goes to home.com/football.

Would I get credit for all three anchor texts in this example, can someone please explain?

    Orville,

Thank you for the response, so my example is 100% okay in terms of getting three different anchor texts in one forum or article?

I had no idea you can do this? i once created 7 different accounts on 1 social bookmarking account just to get a link from a different page as i thought 2 links from the same page reduces the link juice if it directs to the same website.

It does reduce the link juice because the link juice is divided amongst all the outgoing links, so the more outgoing links you are creating, the less link juice that will be passed on through each link.

      Hi WebArtistuk,

The link juice from multiple links is reduced (diluted) whether you link to the same website or different websites. The more unique links the more diluted the link juice. The dilution has absolutely nothing to do with whether they are the same website or not.

I would say use only 2 outbound links to the same top level domain. This is based on training from Bruce Clay, an SEO authority.

Generally speaking, yes. You will still get credit from those anchor texts. For better results, you can diversify your anchor texts for them to look more natural.

Adding prefixes and/or suffixes in your anchor text keyword will be useful too. Like "latest sports news"

you link juice is a sure banker so do get it but make sure you don't stuff all the links on your website in one forum, it may seem off and may even have a negative effect though I'm not really sure of that.

Every link Matters. You will get three different backlinks with three different anchor text. It will pass link juice specific page of your website.

    Very good job my friend.

Target 3 keywords, each keyword should have its own page. Off-site use anchor text linking to the respective pages. On-site have anchor text using the keyword, link from another page to the keyword page. Related keyword phrases can be used on the page with the probability of search engines picking them up for SERP. Work the 3 keywords until they are in the #1 position. Maintain the position and move onto more phrases

I could not find a link to your pages to look them over but the Factors of Importance for Pages is a checklist that uses SEOMoz's biennial report as a reference (SEO experts contribute what factors are important for search engine ranking).
