    There is value in Link exchange but it is very easy for the SE to spot and if it is blatant it might get devalued. One-way links are allways the best bet if you can get them.

    Link exchange (or reciprocal linking) is the exchange of back-links between two websites with mutual consent. It's like, A is linking to B and in return Bis linking back to A.
    It makes search engines look upon your website with suspicion because it reflects manipulation.

    Search engines can discover a link exchange with mutual consent and because its an inorganic way of link building, Google may slap you a penalty.
