Hi all,

What is the maximum number of articles that I should submit to every articles directory so that the value of the backlinks will not diminishes? How many backlinks should I include on every article?

I heard that after getting too much backlinks from the same articles directory, their value diminishes rapidly.

Thank,
Steve

I have read one post here insisting that you can submit your article to article directories as much as you can.

About putting backlinks to your article, you can put maximum of two backlinks pointing to different individual pages.

If you're into article marketing, avoid article spinning and submitting to article directories which are low quality link building to avoid removal of SE ranks when the Google Panda starts to update time to time.

There is no real limit...however dont do article spamming cause it does not work...submit one unique article to ezinearticles.com and keep on adding on as you get more quality content...ppl will read them and go to your site if you have anything useful to say...also for the back links I use only one to place more weight on it...if you use two back links to your site, make sure to do some deeplinking and dont link with different anchor text links to the same page cause google only give you credit for one..

Thanks to everyone, but I didn't mean to ask how many times you can submit the same article.
I heard that after getting too much backlinks from the same articles directory, their value diminishes rapidly. So how much articles do you think that I should submit to every articles directory?

        You were misinformed.

The relative additional value of each subsequent backlink may diminish, but that's not the same thing at all. You won't be worse off having more backlinks than you would have been with fewer.

It would be better if you submit articles on article directories only twice a week with different article directory or authority directory sites. Before, submitting to many article directories are good, but now many things have change since Google aims to rank those having good content as well as unique ones.

      This is utter nonsense.

Countless professional article marketers, making our full-time livings this way, are submitting to directories like EZA every day.

That isn't a reason for submitting to fewer directories at all. (There are plenty of other reasons, but that isn't one of them!).

One would hardly want potential customers finding a copy of an article in a directory in preference to the copy originally published and indexed on one's own site.

Saying "I have a 25% click-through rate from XYZ directory" is just another way of saying "I lose 75% of my traffic at XYZ directory". If you arrange for that traffic to come to your own site instead, you'll get four times as much of it. That's always been easy to do, and fortunately for article marketers, Google's recent algorithm change has made it even easier still.

    Hi Steve JO
I wouldnt say that the link value would diminish but if you are looking to gain higher rankings you should mix it up on various high quality and trusted websites...So dont just focus on one but spread it on many good ones..

So suppose that I have 100 keywords in 100 different pages on my site:
Can I submit 100 different articles on the same articles directory that each one have 2 anchor text links to 2 different pages on my site (every page on my site will have 2 backlinks from this articles directory)?

      Thanks!

I would play it more safe and natural. If you all of a sudden submit 100 to the same article in one shot then that will look a little unnatural and Google can see what you are doing. I would spread them out and maybe submit 10 per week to the same. Then the others use other trusted web 2.0 properties or article directories to spread out the link juice...Google is too smart nowadays to see what you are doing so you have to play it smart as well. Try to focus on an ongoing submission cause I would not recommend to all of a sudden submit and then stop it. Also make sure to spread your anchor text links to appear natural..Hope that helps :-)

Do you think that it's better to submit 50 different articles that each one have 2 anchor text links to 2 different pages on my site (that way every page will have 1 backlink from this articles directory)?

          Thanks!

First of all, why would they all be indexed at the same time, rather than over a period?

Secondly, when Reuters have a news story on their site and it gets syndicated 1,000 times in the first half hour (as they do), do you think they worry about it "looking a little unnatural"?!

Thirdly, even if that did happen, why would Google mind anyway? They know that content often gets widely and quickly syndicated ...

The important point to be making here is that 100 article directory backlinks are not worth having anyway. They're all non-context-relevant, no-PR backlinks. 100,000 of those backlinks and $3.50 will buy you a cappuccino at Starbuck's. Seriously, 100,000 of those backlinks are worth the same, in link-juice terms, as one backlink from a relevant authority-site.

The issue here isn't about the dangers of what you're planning to do (there are none); and it isn't about maximising the benefit, either, because that "benefit" is almost non-existent. (And people are talking about "spreading out the link-juice"?! That "link-juice" is infinitessimal. It's homeopathic! ).

This is one of those "difficult" threads. :p

In these situations where the level of misinformation and plain misguided advice starts getting out of hand, the general effect is that anyone who actually knows anything about the subject just can't be bothered posting in it any more, and you end up with a collection of <a few words deleted, on editing, here>, further perpetuating every "urban myth of internet marketing" ever heard of. I'm sorry that you're being so widely misinformed, SteveJo, but that's how it is.

Well, at this point of time, I would not suggest you article submission. Most of the article directories are still recovering from Panda attack
    http://www.keywordcountry.com/blog/g...-panda-update/

Instead you can try with blogging. You can start your own blog and and publish your content there. Promote your blog well, this strategy will work better than article submission.

This is clearly so. Their owners aren't denying or concealing that.

But that isn't a reason not to use them.

It's a reason to use them for their original purpose, i.e. not to imagine you'll get targeted traffic or backlinks worth anything from them. But no surprise there: that was never the purpose or function of an article directory in the first place.

Why "instead"? There wouldn't be much point in submitting to article directories without first having your own site/blog, would there?

At the end of the day the article submitted to an article directory should remain at the top of the category. It is very important that the article does not drop down the category.

Submitting to article directories is about making links to your site and not about quantity. I think quality should be a paramount consideration though.
