strange thing I saw today, Please help

One of my clients sites, ranks well. Its good site etc.

But somehow when I do site:www.domainname.com

I don't see home page indexed?? I find that strange. Hows that possible? What can be the reason? What can I do to get it index.

Please help.

Perhaps the site has no www, it could be http://domainname.com

Have you created backlinks to homepage? That may get the homepage indexed.
