Okay so I've heard a lot about this tool hence I wanted to know stuff about it. Of course its a black hat software but people make out well a lot from it by using it with care and going a bit slowly. This software does demand some good external stuff that may include,
  • Fresh List of Proxies
  • Good list of Forum Profiles and Blogs
  • Quality of those Links
  • The way you ping
Never really tried but I do want to know who uses this software and whose an expert with it? Maybe we can use it together to blast some sites and stuff like that so post anything you've achieved with the software.

Scrapebox is easily one of my favorite tool in my marketing arsenal. It can do wonders if you use it the right way.

I actually wouldn't call Scrapebox a BH tool. Sure, it can be used that way, but it's really up to the user. To be honest, one of the last things I do with it is blast away at thousands of sites.

I use it mainly as a research tool. For example, you can use it to pinpoint your competitions backlinks in just a few seconds. You can use it to generate 1,000+ niche keywords in a minute or two. You can mass check the PR of thousands of sites at once, etc.

It's the Swiss Army Knife of IM tools.

If you think scrapebox is just a blackhat tool, you don't understand scrapebox.
It can do so many things, some blackhat, some whitehat, and everywhere in the middle.

Yeah, I use scrapebox in a more whitehat way. I don't just mass autocomment thousands of blogs at once, but I will find huge lists of high PR domains that I then manually comment on from time to time. I get really good results that way, especially since the Panda update when high quality links seem to count more.

This is pretty much the only way I use SB, as far as blog commenting. If you've got the time you can really find a lot of higher quality, DoFollow blogs.

Yes- Scrapebox is one of the most powerful SEO analysis tools on the market if you know how to properly use it.

I highly recommend it to anyone that's how powerful of a tool it is. You can really learn how SEO works by spending a good amount of time with it.

Can it be used for bluefar methods? Sure.... Although I don't recommend that. Learn how to analyze competition, how to find certain high PR blogs/websites for backlinks, and much much more.

      What issues are you having?

If you're checking a TON of pages at once the proxies will eventually burn out. (And stay that way for about 24 hours.)

Scrapebox is hands-down the best tool for SEO (and no its not a BlueFart tool).

Many people say its spammy... well any automated backlinking tool you use is spammy if you really want to get technical. the only true non-spam backlink you could build is through an honest backlink exchange with another webmaster... everything else is spam.

Even if you build a manual backlink to a web 2.0 sight (or profile link), and your only intention is to get a backlink, then you're spamming the site.

Anyway... aside from blog commenting (get ahold of the right auto-approve list and it will change your life) you could do some extensive recon on your competition using some of the add-ons that come with the program.

It works best using private proxies... I use yourprivateproxies and I haven't had ANY problems.

Great program, and once you learn how to REALLY use it then you'll love it. Mine sat on my computer for months until I saw a few videos on all of the modules, and I've loved it ever since.

I run it on a cheap $9 VPS @ http://www.websiteserviceplus.com and it works great. If you want to run more than one instance you may need to step it up a bit. But it runs fine on 512mb if you're not going nuts with it.

I mean of course you use Blog Commenting manually or you might be just having a list of TOP approval PR pages to blast to since using with care is always good.

I actually meant what other methods other than commenting you find good in Scrapebox and how do you make use of them being secure from Sandbox?

--checking to see if comments are open on a list of blogs

I think blog commenting is good, just not with blasting a bunch of comments on Scrapebox.

Blasting comments is only useful for getting things indexed. The vast majority of the comments are not going to stick, and the ones that do are usually going to be PR 0 and PR n/a sites. Instead I use Scrapebox to find PR 4+ blogs to manually comment. Those backlinks are worth more than 3000 spammed comments on PR 0 and PR n/a blogs.

My website seo method is 95% whitehat and 5% blackhat, so far everything is good and Google Panda does not really affect my website.

I didn't buy software like Scrapebox thought I know it's a good seo tool. I usually leave the "5% blackhat" to the experts in Fiverr.

95% Whitehat means you are basically building no backlinks at all whatsoever. So what are you finding working?

        I see this a lot.

I'd say almost none of us are "white hat." At best we're "grey hat." We all basically toe the line between white and black. Nearly any form of manual link building technically goes against what Google is looking for.

First we need to define white hat and black hat, in the shortest possible sentence.

In my dictionary whitehat means something that is useful and valuable for the web visitors, and black hat serves as the opposite.

My white hat backlink building method= 1) Join the niche related forums and post useful content that give value to the visitors, at the same time link back to my site with keyword as anchor text. 2) Create quality, readable and unique contents and submits to the articles directories. I don't usually sell in these articles, but usually just a link back at the last sentence of the article, or just at my bio. 3) Don't build them, delivers the value of my product and service to my customers, and let them build the links for me, mentioning my website in their blog, forums... 4) Press release 5) etc.

I agree with you that "white hat backlinks" = "not doing backlinks work" to certain extend because I even think that backlink building is ridiculous and shouldn't even be part of SEO, but every marketers should arm themselves with tricks like linking back to their website with anchor text (intentionally) even if they are doing whitehat backlink building.

I do the 5% black hat because I feel the need of them to speed up my seo progress, there is nothing to do with ethics whatsoever, it is just personal preference. I prefer to do white hat because I think the links usually stay longer, and more importantly they improve conversion.

I'm not an active member of this forum but I love to read great advice here. Sorry for my english as I am not a native speaker.

Ok. In my mind, building any backlinks to your own sites is black hat, so that's the difference.

      You are practically doing nothing.

    Here's my definition,

You found 2 article directories which you thought to post spunned version of your articles at, you spent 1 hour in doing so while I did the job with a software in 3 mins. It just saved my time creating no difference.

Assume that both versions are accepted as unique content in the eyes of Google, and get indexed, but the difference is that visitors who came from the readable article to your site are more likely to buy your products and services than the visitors who came from a poorly spunned version of articles (I doubt if they bother to click the link).

This argument is not right or wrong, because seo is just part of my business, conversion is equally as important because my position is not only a seo analyst, but also a business owner for my website. If I am a seo service provider I may have done differently, 95% black hat and 5% white hat (according to my definition), since my intention and mission is different.

I think seo is a big study and the same method may not deliver the same result in different niche. As long as we stick to the method that deliver the result and purpose, then it's fine

Yea I think CPC is always a competitive niche (I find myself hard to survive in it few years ago) and the speed of getting more backlinks, and get indexed, is more important than anything else.

My definition for "white hat" and "black hat" may be too harsh. Maybe MikeFriedman is right, if I am doing 95% white hat and 5% black hat basically means I am doing 100% black hat

Really, you are better off using SpyGlass for that. Scrapebox can work, but SpyGlass does that job better.

But just about anything is better than the "Competitors" feature of MS. If you haven't paid for MS yet, don't. Waste of money.

The advantage of SpyGlass is that it will pull the links, the PR of the page, it will tell you how many outgoing backlinks are on the page, the PR of the domain, if the link still exists or not (Key factor. Sometimes the links are still indexed, but have been removed. The search engine just hasn't visited since it was removed and updated its index), and the anchor text used. You can then sort this information in a variety of ways and there are quite a few reporting features if you are looking for something in particular.

And you can run Scrapebox off of your desktop or use a server if you choose. Works either way. I use two servers for it just because I have it running all the time on both of them.

Thanks for the great info. I haven't bought MS yet and don't plan on it. The only thing I use it for is keyword research because google analytics info is way to broad.

MS pulls its keyword data from Google, so you are seeing the same thing you would in the Google Keyword tool.

SpyGlass is only going to give you backlinks from a specific site.

With Scrapebox you can search for additional sites to link from. And don't ever use Scrapebox to blast out blog comments. That is a waste of time. Use it to find good sites to comment on, but do it manually. You will get far more out of it.

You either have never used Scrapebox, or you are usiing it all wrong.

Scrapebox is simply a tool to speed up "good old hard work".

Do I want to manually visit thousands of webpages in the SERPs to find relevant websites to get links from? No. Scrapebox will do it.

Do I want to manually check the PR of 1000 webpages to find good link partners? No. Scrapebox can do it in seconds.

Do I want to manually visit a bunch of webpages to determine how many outgoing backlinks they have? No. There's an app for that.

There is so much Scrapebox can do. Is it worthwhile to blast out thousands of comments to a bunch of blogs and spam up the internet? No. But I don't use it for that.

I actually just purchased Scrapebox not so long ago. The main reason I got it was to use it in tandem with Article Marketing Robot. I use it to find Article Directories to add to my directories list. It is working out very well. There is really a ton of stuff you can do with it. I have just started using it to find high PR blogs to manually comment on (used to use Comment Kahuna for that). I've only scratched the surface with what you can do with this tool. And for as cheap as it is ($57.00 one time fee if I remember correctly)...it really is a no-brainer considering everything you get out of this tool.

Yeah. It's a nifty handy tool because of its tones of features. It's never been a Blackhat tool for me. All tools are good if you know how to use it very well.
