Are Backlinks From Articles Still Effective?

Are backlinks from articles submitted to article directories still effective in increasing rankings? What is the strategy to go about here?

Do I need to submit 1 article to all the directories? Does article spinning still work? What spinning software do you recommend?

Thanks.

Yes, I am working on a site recently and using article directories for backlinks and have noticed that it still works.

I still submit the same article to many directories although of late, due to a misunderstanding about the google panda update, many directories only now accept articles not published elsewhere. To me it is not worth writing one article each for each directory especially to some obscure directory.

I would not recommend spinning as it will eventually get to kicked out of many article directories and you might lose the links you already have on them when they delete your account.

Yes, it's still effective but make sure you submit your articles to article directories having PR3 or above.

The PR of the article directory isn't as important as the PR of the websites that post your content.

It's the PR of those individual websites that are going to give your site the most juice.

Individual articles on places like Ezine have a PR N/A.

As far as spinning the content and posting it to the directories I would submit the original article to Ezine and wait for the article to go live since they have such picky rules...then I use "The Best Spinner" and crank out about 100 articles to 80% uniquness and submit one article to each directory. This would eliminate the duplication factor and increase the amount of articles that stick.

Does the 'quality' of the article matter?
I am planning to submit dozens of articles per day, but I realize that manually revising each one takes too much time and was planning to use the 'easy spin' feature on TBS instead.

The outcome of the SPUN article isnt great at all, and in some sense, they might not even be readable. However, my objective is the simply obtain a backlink from article directories anyways.

So does quality matters at all? Thanks in advance.

If you want to rank article in google then quality is important, otherwise it is not important, but more uniqueness more useful it will be.

                Thanks.
So I assume if I simply want a backlink from the article, I can pretty much BS the quality right?

                  Hi Seofarmer,

                  No, not really.

Many article directories will not accept poorly spun articles, those that do may give you a backlink, but since the Panda Update, that poor quality article may be completely devalued as a backlink. While you see the backlink is there, you can include it in your count, Google will completely ignore it like it never existed. Having a million backlinks that are totally ignored by Google isn't really going to help you rank at all.

Even though TBS is a great tool for spinning, you must rewrite your sentences for best results. And while that is time consuming, you actually reap a benefit. If you don't have the time, then hire some writers, there are many that work cheap. If you sling a bunch of garbage content out there you are simply going to be labeled a spammer, and that reputation will follow you far into the future.

    OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's still a killer technique to building backlinks and ranking a website...

Shoot!... Depending on how much competition a site has to deal with, sometimes article marketing is enough to get a site to atleast the first page for its keywords. Not much more needed to do so.

You looking to do it yourself?

    Holla!

Spun articles, although don't make much sense to a human reader are still valuable since very few websites would do manual reviews of all articles uploaded. Even then, there is no way for them to tell if its a spun article because it could just be a human with really bad English, in which case they have no grounds to discriminate based on the up loader's grammar.

      Hi YasirYar,

All true, until the Panda Update, which now devalues low quality content. So what was once true, is no longer.
