I know that keyword domain names are favored, for example if I was looking into jet ski's, jetski.com would be a great domain name. But, my question is, how powerful is a domain that has something like jet.com/ski, or another example

howdoi.com/dance compared to howdoidance.com, is there a difference to these two in seo and if so what is the difference. Thanks guys, btw new here but great forum.

It is only that exact match domain with keywords rank easily. Even domain without any keywords in it can also rank higher. It is only the quality of content and backlinks that play role in ranking.

Keyword must be in your domain get fast ranking. So, if the domain is not available you can use ehowdoidance.com and also you other's like howdoidancewell.com
    howdoidanceeasiy.com
    howdoidancegood.com

you can also use other words after your EMD......

    Thanks

As far as the keyword will remain in the URL (especially in the domain) the website will rank.

I would say the howdoidance.com is better, though some guys said they are the same, from personal experience, the exact domain often get ranked faster.

keywords in the domain name helps to increase your positions in Google SERP for example if my target keyword is personalloan then www.personalloan.com is best, because your keyword is in your domain. www.loan.com/personal this is also good but the domain has no full keywords

The keyword remaining in the URL after the slash is better than it not being in the URL at all, but best is for the words to all be in the domain and in order.

Keywords which are also in the domain tend to be favoured but by doing the right kind of SEO you can be sure of beating them at the rankings place. I am saying this because I just
    did.

domain with exact keyword will help you more than other options. if you get exact keyword domain then it will help you to get faster ranking position. if you select other option then you need to get good number of backlinks, it will also help you but it need hard work.....

You can include your keyword in your domain name, but it is not necessary. If you noticed, there are lots of big sites out there that don't have their keyword in their domain. Ex, ebay and Amazon.

As you can see, they have not included their keyword(s) in their domain names and yet, they get higher ranking using unique and branded name that won't easily be forgotten.

You can apply the same principle.
