Hi,

Often i see people say that you need to be at no.1 to 3 on Google for your keywords to get some substantial traffic to your site. This makes perfect sense. Now, if you are in Flippa.com, you will really get a nice idea about traffic, rank, revenue all the stuff for a website. There often, i see websites are not ranked among top 3 on Google and still getting decent traffic which in turn led to decent earnings and sold out for hundreds of dollars. One argument is search engine does not represent the whole traffic buzz. Is it enough to explain?

    That's a little bit more than just "one argument": it's a factual observation. Search engines are only one of many potential sources of traffic.

    There are people in this forum making 7-figures annually through article syndication (I don't pretend to be one of them!) who don't have any websites ranked in top hundreds/thousands on Google, but who have floods of daily traffic, build enormous lists, and so on.

    There are business models - some of them very successful - that don't depend on search engines at all. "Just saying" ...
