Hello!

I've just started building links to one of my websites and while doing this I've noticed that I can get more good links from blog pages with PR5,4,3 than from forums with PR0 (a lot of threads have PR0). What I ment is if a blog has PR6 and the page where I'm posting has PR5 is much better then a PR6 forum with PR0 posting page.
I've opened this thread because I saw a lot of warriers recomand forum backlinks before blog backlinks.
The question:
In you opinion which is better blog posting on pages with 2,3,4,5 PR or forum posting on pages with 0 or 1 PR ??
#backlinks #blog #forum

DEFINITELY without a question you should post on the blog pages that have high PR URLS instead of wasting your time on forum profiles with PR0.

Ideally you would find a way to do both.

  • It's way much better than making use of several high PR backlinks from blog platforms rather making use of PR0 backlinks from forums. Remember, SEO is all about getting PR juice from other websites. So, choose wisely.

      c) Article submission.
      d) Guest blogging.
      e) Social bookmarking.

      b) Blog commenting.
      c) Article submission.
      d) Guest blogging.
      e) Social bookmarking.

I'd say you ought to use both forum profiles and blog comments but in my experience it takes longer for links on forum profiles to get indexed because they are links on brand new profile pages you create. Blog comments on the other hand gives you links from (usually) already indexed or soon to be indexed blog posts and therefore these links get's indexed faster....

For me, both are important. you can't ignore any one of it. Blog commenting done on related high PR blogs and forum commenting done in related topics with good appropriate comments definitely helps in getting traffic and backlinks.

I think both have equal importance, forum backlinks from good and authoritative forums drives traffic to your site.. Blog backlinks adds to the powerful internet marketing and awareness of your niche website..

There is a HUGE range in the quality of "blog comments", and less range in profile links.

With blog comments it is possible to get in content do-follow links on PR6 pages that really pack a punch, but you have to spend a lot of time finding the sites, and then more time planting a good comment that will pass moderation. Its time consuming but well worth it.

Then there are other types of do-follow links, some anchor on the username, others running plugins like comluv will give you an anchored link to your latest "post" from your rss feed (if you have an rss feed). Those are ok too, but, if the blog owner takes down the plugin the links will die.

Right at the bottom of the heap are "auto approve" comments. These are unmoderated comments on blogs. These can have thousands of links per page. You will see porn and viagra links on the pages along with the rest of the mess. 95% are no follow. These are the absolute gutter, not really any different to guestbook spam.

High PR links from moderated sites with low OBL (few links on the page) with an anchored link are unbeatable in terms of "free links" or "grey" links. Absolute gold.

I would put auto approve below profile links. They are right at the bottom of the heap.

So, blog comments are not equal, it really depends what kind of links you are talking about.

Oh, and the best "comments" do not come from "blogs" they come from news sites etc.

forums posting is much better then blog commenting. Because when we add comment in blog it depend on admin. he will approved your comment or not. I think forum posting is good in that case

Getting quality backlinks from any high PR site should be your ultimate priority. They can either be from the forum posting or blog links. If you see that the PR is somehow
different then you should go for the one that has the higher PR, as that link will have more value as compared to a link having less PR. The ideal scenario would be you having backlinks from both blogs and forum postings.

Why is it always 'X' versus 'Y'?

    Don't just use 'X'! Don't just use 'Y'!

    Use the whole darn alphabet!

Maintaining a natural and organic looking link profile is important for the long-term effectiveness of your link building. Do you really think having 99% of your backlinks as blog comments looks natural?

Get backlinks from as many different sources as you can, including both DoFollow AND NoFollow, and ensure to vary the anchor text.

This will help you to "future-proof" your link profile from any future algorithm changes that devalue any particular type of link.

There is all methods of link building possible including blog commenting forums posting,
social media advertising, directory submission and text link advertising. blog commenting and forum posting both are most popular method. that both do not use no-follow tag.
For the direct traffic, the forum posting work better, if you find a good, active forum
that has topics and responses that are very closely related to you website. it should
not to very hard conversation, provide some value to the discussion and drop a link.

but for SEO purpose, i think blog commenting works a little better. search engines particularly google seem to sign PR to blog posts a little easier than to forum topics,
especially when the article is only 1 or 2 click from the homepage and even though
the blog post will never return to the home page of the blog.
