Hi all I have some Google ranking question here:

Now my customers majority is from my country Malaysia

1. If the keyword target base on international (google.com), and the people search in local (google.com.my), can they still found my site? And my website got some "Malaysia" keyword.

2. Why a lot of the keyword competitor from (Google.com.my) in local is higher than international (Google.com)?

Thank you all!!

I think I get what you are asking and will answer it by saying this. Chances are that if you are on the first page of Google (U.S) for your particular keywords, you will hold the same or nearly the same position for the same keyword for the various Google pages of different countries. I have experienced this to be true over and over again. In fact, my U.S. to foreign traffic ratio for my site is like 55/45. I just rank for stuff using regular SEO.

      Hey, thanks for your idea!

But, I just wonder why a lot of the keyword competitor from (Google.com.my) in local is higher than international (Google.com)?

      Thanks!!

I'm not sure I quite understand what you're asking, here, but is it possible that this is (more or less) the question Google is answering, right here?

To get high ranking by selecting firstly select local SEO Services. If you can hire a PPC Services campaign for you business easily you get rankings in local searches.
But if you want to rank in organic listings you have to work a lot for the local keywords that must be more traffic generating for Malaysian local business.

They probably have more links from .com.my domains so they rank higher in .com.my

What you need to do is install google webmaster tools on your site and in the settings there you can specify to target Malaysian search users, in other words you need to tell google that your customers are from Malaysia.

1: Yeah, you can get second page or third but not no 1.There are high chances to get no 1, if generally you are doing overall optimization for .my.

2: Yes some time's it's happen, when your product /services is related with in local boundary.
