AdWords Display Builder is DOWN

About a week ago now I attempted to create my first display builder ad on my AdWords account. I got all the way thru creating the ad and attempted to save that ad. It wouldn't let me though, I was given some error message stating a generic technical error on my account was preventing the ad from being saved.
I contacted AdWords support - not very helpful in my experience - and they say it is an issue affecting all AdWords accounts. Given that the problem is at least a week old and I can find no mention what so ever on the problem I doubt that it is affecting all accounts but I thought I'd ask just in case.
Anyone else able to create Display Builder Ads and save them?
