Hello,

I am wondering to know what is the relation between Google PR and SERP? For example how come some websites with lower PR have better SERP?

Thank you

Google search results are based more on relevancy to the key term entered than simply a list of the sites/pages with the highest PR.

There are other factors to consider too, such as the on page content (how relevant is it?) the number of back links and their anchor text, the authority of the site, etc. These factors may have more weight than the PR of the page, which is why sometimes a PR0 page can appear higher than a PR4 one for some search terms.

Low PR still can got top in SERP if you research first

    2. Who in the serp in that keyword, check he Site quality for that keyword. like Backlink, content keyword and etc

    3. Your must got more backlink if your want to chalangge. Target that keyword on page and off page. Use anchor text for off page

Getting back links from relevant high pr sites using different keywords, which are also the part of your web contents will help you increase SEPR.

There are a lot of factors that come into play. Sometimes sites with higher PR will be specialized towards other terms, but may also rank for a few general ones. In this case, a site with a lower PR, but more focused keyword selection and link building would probably rank higher.

PR is a ranking signal, however it's not heavily weighted, more of the weight comes from the PR of the sites linking to you.

I have seen many PR 1-2s outranking PR 5-6s for their keyword terms.. Do not look solely at PR to determine where your website will rank.

My question is exactly about what you said. If we have a good PR, how can improve SERP as well?

      Thank you

I think that Pagerank can portray whether i site will be able to get a lot of traffic. If a site has low pagerank it means it lacks inbound links and without links the site probably won't rank very highly on search engines, especially Google.

Page rank affects about 20 percent of how well your site ranks. There are many factors that affect how well you rank and there are many algorithms Google used for ranking. Some of the factors will be how many quality backlinks you have as well as how well your sites are getting the Google trust. Also you well SEO'ed your sites are will help your ranking.

How relevant of the keyword with the article would be the key factor to determine SERP. Imagine, if PR is everything then those new site have no chance to beat those old domain and high PR site.

If those low PR site is relevant to SERP, sooner or later that particular page will promote to high PR.

PageRank is mostly a measure of the quality of incoming links to a webpage. It does not guarantee rankings, and pagerank and rankings are largely (but not necessarily entirely) independent of eachother.

Just because a site has a pagerank of 6 doesn't mean it is going to rank for any specific keyword without proper onsite and offsite optimization for that keyword.

Friends, Many suggest to get better SERP, get more quality backlinks. As I already pointed out, When a website has a good PR, it means that has good quality backlinks, so when it comes to SERP, only sticking to quality backlinks is useless. For high PR websites, how they can improve SERP?

A thing which is coming to my mind is that, when it comes to SERP, number of backlinks is more important than only getting PR from high PR pages. Is it right?

PR is not that important as before.Good content+many high quality backlinks can bring you good rankings, even if your site is totally a new one without pr.

The thing is why when a website has lots of good quality backlinks and good PR, it does not result in good SERP?
