I am doing some SEO, and making some money from it.

I am just curious, which SEO tools do you use that help you to rank in the search engines?

It doesn't matter if it's free or paid, please share them!

Let's create this thread which will cover every best tool related to SEO.

- Google Adwords Keyword Tool
- Yahoo Site Explorer
- Google Insights
- Google Search (operators like allintitle, exact match, etc.)
- Alexa

Matt, you are targeting very very tough keyword and probably you will have to spend around 5-6 month of time in order to bring your website on 1st page + you will have to keep at least 2 dedicated guy to work on the website.

I'm looking for a simple tool that can check a URLs ranking for a key phrase, and track over time, and spit out a PDF that I can email clients.

majestic seo is also great for searching backlinks. Plus use serpfox for tracking and senukex for ranking. For checking competition manual review is your best bet.

Website Analytics would be one. I have used Google Analytics for one of my old blogs before, and it helped me see how people are going in and out of my site. Another tool would be SEOMoz's Open Site Explorer.
