Hi Warriors,

Questions regarding adsense are one of the few topics that posted in this forum.

Now, I want to discuss some of the biggest mistakes that cause adsense failure.

Here are some of the biggest problems:

1. Creating new adsense websites in over saturates niches ;

2. Not figuring out correctly the optimum number of competition that you need to know before you create any adsense site ;

3. Not sending QUALITY traffic to your website .

I think these 3 are some of the biggest mistakes that lead to adsense failure .

What is your comment on this?

Mike

    Breaking the rules.

    You may last a while - but then they will ban your site.

    Not getting enough traffic is the other one.

      Though there is no specific layout will boost earnings, there is a layout and colour combination will have higher earnings than current level. That's what I had been tested out. With the same traffic level, I changed the themes, layout, and colour. I found out there will be huge difference of earning and CTR. Different site may have different layout that works better. Just test it.

      Of course, before talking about changing the layout, the site itself must have enough traffic for testing. Otherwise, there is no difference in result.

      This is so true - the problem is it's too easy to spend time messing around with formats and colours... getting the traffic is the bit that requires the leg work!

      Thinking that Adsense is ALL about the traffic is one of the biggest mistakes that cause Adsense failure. You do need traffic, but simple 1st-grade math reveals a wonderfully profitable truth about "secret magic layouts"...

      Taking your CTR from a constant 10% to a constant 30% means you now make the same money with 1/3 the traffic. Take it from 5% to 20% and you need only 1/4 the traffic.

      Even better, it's not the same money, because increasing your CTR can significantly increase your PPC from Google.

      Constantly test and improve your layouts. It is not ALL about traffic.

    having too many ads plastered every possible place - with adsense less is more!

    I agree with the too many is bad. You just need to find what works well for your site. I use two types and it works great for me AND keep them above the fold.

    I disagree with the "over saturated" market. I have two in such a market and they are great money makers. Plenty of room still left, IMHO.

    Aside from obvious rule violations...

    Having content that is too informational or too good so that there is no need for the visitor to click any ads to explore the topic further. Mediocre content rules for Adsense. Save 'content is king' content for your flagship blog where you're trying to schmooze market to regular readers.

    Having too much information seeking traffic and not enough buying traffic because of the keywords used. This a good way to get 1 cent clicks. Example: "History of Credit Cards" doesn't pay, "Low Interest Credit Cards" does.

    Having too much untargeted social referral traffic, especially ones who click your ads to 'help you out' or to 'leave you a tip'. That's a good way to get smart priced or even banned.

    Not building links to the site with well anchored, buying keyword, links. No links=no traffic=no money.

    Not being patient. It takes time for a site to begin to pull in money because what you get paid per click depends a lot on how well your traffic converts for advertisers.

    It is traffic and then how you place adsense on website.

      Hi Mike,

      I have to disagree with you on your number 1 and number 2.

      Any good niche is likely to have a lot of competing websites. It's not the number of competing websites that's important. All that matters is how competitive the top 10 or 20 sites are. You must beat number 20 to get on the second page of results and number 10 to get on the first page.

      You could have a million competitors, but if they are all lame except for the top 7, you may have an easy time getting to page one. Numbers are not that important but how good is the top 10-20 results.

      Even if it's a lot of work, if there is massive traffic there it may be worth it. Conversly, if there are few competitors but little or no traffic it's not worth your time.

        You need to be series with numbers - numbers are very important because they indicate the level of competition you could face today or tomorrow .

        I always consider short term and long term effects into consideration .
