When asking for advice on backlinking you will most likely hear...

1.blog commenting
2.article marketing
3.social bookmark
4.profile backlinks
5.web 2.0

and if you say hey my links aren't getting indexed you will defiantly hear oh just build backlinks to your backlinks in this fashion

tier3->tier2->tier1->money site....oh that didn't work just take your urls and mash them together into one big rss feed thats sure to get them found

Also only link to related sites and don't link to fast or you will end up in the sandbox.

Here's where I'm starting to have trouble with all this kinda advice it's bull lol.

The number 1 site that out ranks me is only a month older than mine, which makes it only about 9 months old yet this site has 42,000 backlinks showing in yahoo site explorer which means he probably has more, so there goes the whole don't build links to fast advice , none of his backlinks are web 2.0 ,blog comment etc and not just this site i check the top 20 sites in different niches and most don't have these kinds of links, also there were a lot of sites that were less than a year old but had between 30,000 and 70,000 backlinks that apparently landed them the number spot instead of the so called sand box.

I say all of that to say this, I need help. I have done all of the above used a lot of software and even done some link building by hand, only to have 10% show up and yes I gave it time for those who will say be patient.

Can anyone plz not only help me but others in my position by giving some good advice thats not the same o same o.

p.s.

Most of those links from those sites I check were pr 0 and I would say only 15% percent were related to that site's niche.

Hmm. Maybe you should go back to the whole process again of optimizing your website - which would now aim for development and improvements of your site in both on-page and off-page optimization. If you are not contented on the advices of these so-called SEOs, why don't you try this advice?

    Check keywords.
    Check your contents.
Check your blogs if you have.

    ... and many more.

Most likely the problem lies on your on-page optimization. However successful you think your off-page optimization is, when your on-page is bad - you will definitely end up being overwhelmed by others.

the problem is you can't sort backlinks by PR so you only see the PR0-PR1 backlinks in your competitors sites. Also, not all backlinks are revealed by the search engines but they're there.

you need to build backlinks from high PR sources in addition to what you already have.

You can also buy links from sites related to yours. And you can do link exchanges, too. I would recommend you doing 3-way link exchange with related sites. However, for this you will need another site on which you will be offering links.

BTW, I have a single PR5 backlink pointing at a blogspot with a single page, the blogspot page is a PR3. Goes to show you don't need thousands of junk backlinks to produce a page with PR authority. Not saying PR3 is all that, just saying it doesn't take very many high PR backlinks to boost a pages PR & keep that page indexed + cached.
Trust me I would love to hear what you do to get backlinks indexed

thank you for all you advice but I don't want to pay for links I'm looking for advice on how to build backlinks in such a way that they actually show up, or just different kinds of links other than web 2.0 or profile links, when ever someone says they have a problem with getting links or getting them indexed the above advice is handed out like its procedure or something I'm still new to building backlinks so I was wondering did anyone have some tips, tricks or a effective methods of building and getting links indexed.

The thing is me and this other guy both started out at nearly the same time, I STOP working online to go into law enforcement field, long story short I hated that job so I came back to this, when I checked he had built 25,000 backlinks in 4 months, all his backlins are on homepage so they most be bought I'm guessing, this niche is worth the effort each of my keywords are 3.00 plus a click and exact search is 27,000 for main keyword plus around the same for secondary keywords, I'm not worried about beating him right now , I just need to build backlinks faster than I am right now.

You need to leave links on quality webpage. Usually the higher the page rank the quicker their spiders re-crawl the webpage. If you know where the links are (i.e. kept a record) you can submit them to as many social networks or social bookmarking sites as possible, google usually picks these up fast. Have you tried pinging the sites where you've left back link? That could help speed up the process too.

This stuff all still works, but you also need to:

    1) Get some decent links too
    2) Build a decent site that has good stick rate and CTR (from titles)

Consider how Google measure "success"... that is by the number of clicks people make to find what they are looking for. If someone clicks your site then backs straight out to google to look for the next site... google consider that a failure of sorts. Since Panda these metrics seem to be more important as they plug a gap in Googles content analysis (which is still weak at the moment).

I never tier more than two levels i.e. backlinks to backlinks. The crazy bonkers diagrams you see are usually produced by people SELLING LINKS rathern than people RANKING SITES.

A tier 3 craplink is not going to pass anything measureable up the tree.

Also consider the fact that you may be routing INDEXED tier 3 links to NO INDEXED tier 2. Also, what if Tier 2 gets deleted?

Definitely true, and my experience over the last year is that it takes a long time to come back out again... longer than it used to. But, on a new site that is not making money, nor ranking in the first place... what have you actually lost?

    Not so:

    1) He may have 301 redirected another ranking aged domain onto it, or pulled some other stunt you are not aware of
    2) Did you look whether those links were from blogrolls? A single sitewide link from a large blog can generate thousands of links. A few sitewides from big authority blogs would probably explain why they are outranking you

Depends on the link types... you need to look at those links, not just the numbers.

I wasted the best part of a year looking for answers in forums, on seo blogs etc.

I ONLY ever learned to rank sites after taking apart my competitors.

Get a copy of SEO SpyGlass and start digging... and I mean digging into these sites and unravel what is going on. Figure out why they rank. Then emulate it. Then improve on what they are doing, if you can. Then you will outrank them.

Linkdiversity is the factor here, you can beat that guy with 40k links easily, just build some handsome links to your site and build naturally not exactly slowly. Then get some nice in content related links going (buy it if required) and give sometime, that gamer will be gamed by your normal thinking process. There are gamers everywhere it is the difference between the long term gamer and short term gamer

Never mind about quantity of backlinks your competitor have. Just try quality & relevant links with high PR. Also quality does not mean only high PR but with high DA & PA can be considered as the same with low PR. In our SEO practices what we observe that what 100s of backlinks can't do to your site, only 10 links are enough. But above all take care of your on page optimization by some professional.

You know, I'm having a very similar problem, I make more back links, and it doesn't seem to help. I feel like I need to work all day, just to get an increase in one step in the rankings, and sometimes that doesn't even work, sometimes I work all day, and I go backwards. You say your pay per click cost is three dollars? No it isn't, I can get you ten cent clicks or less for anything.

SEO is all about patience and consistency. Your links ARE working, but your rankings aren't going to change overnight. There's so many factors involved.

Diversify with the highest quality links you can, and do it every single day. Even if it's only 5 links in a day. As long as those links are from high quality sites, they will have an affect.
