Here is a situation I run into quite often, and I am never sure what is the best approach. If I have a site on skin care products, and I am making a new page, I am often stumped on how to best use the keyword.

Here's an example. If the product name is Xtezine, as an example, and it get 3,000 searches a month exact match, and it is a face cleanser, and the term Face Cleanser gets 5,000 searches a month exact match, should I make my title and content keyword Xtezine face cleanser?

The problem is, if you check that phrase together, "Xtezine face cleanser" it will usually have extremely low, or zero searches.

My question is, will google give credit for both of the keywords separately, or am I better off to just use the product name by itself, in the title and the content.

Thanks
Glenn

  • Before implementing an SEO campaign, it is important to do some research. The first things to research are the public and its competition. The next step is to search by keyword. This is a very important step, because the words are addressed to determine who can view your site. Missing important keywords will mean missing out on profitable customers and potential customers. Many web site owners are beginning to realize the importance of local search and want to incorporate keywords into the local mix. This approach is good, however, it is important that you follow this formula: keyword research at the national, then to locate it.

For successful SEO campaign we have to choose high searchable keyword for our website promotion because If we promote our website through high searchable keyword then in that case we can get good traffic on our website.

Glenn, if "Xtezine face cleanser" has zero searches then this is not a potential keyword. You will still get credit for the "face cleanser" portion, but you may, I repeat may, never be able to rank for that keyword due to the competition. You would have to research that to know.

Is this product targeting women? If so I would bring a woman into your search, and sit down and write down as many keywords as you can that are relevant and will attract the visitors you want. What will someone type into a search engine to find a solution that you can help them with?

Before I even decide on a product or service to promote I will open a word doc and start typing potential keywords, until I cannot think of any more. Now, most keyword search tools will suggest keywords for you, but I like to think of my own before my mind is polluted by a search tool's suggestions.

At this point I begin researching the competition, search volume, etc., to decide if I want to proceed.

When I think of "Xtezine face cleanser" I begin thinking of all the variations possible, such as facial cleanser, face cleaner, facial cleaner, skin cleaner, teen skin cleaner, best facial skin cleanser, what skin cleanser works, and on and on. You can include the brand name in those keywords if you desire, but I imagine thousands of others have already beat you to that keyword if this product has much age on it.

    Hope this helps!

The answer to the question I believe you was looking for is quite simple...

You are asking... if you have a domain name Xtezine face cleanser.com , you can rank that site for various relevant keywords such as:

xtezine cleanser, xtezine face cleanser, xtezine face cleanzer review, xtezine face cleanser for men, does xtezine face cleanser work? and so on...

So if you buy a domain name that contains those keywords, xtezine, face and cleanser, you have a pretty broad array of keywords you could potentially target with such domain, providing that your onpage SEO is sound and contains all those keywords in sentences and without over stuffing.

I think you should go for face cleaner instead of the product name. Simply because if you can rank well in face cleaner, you can persuade those who are just simply looking for any face cleaner as your buyer. However if you just target the product name, then the market is going to be small.

I would go for Face Cleanser. You can add the product name in your homepage content and then send some anchor text high pr backlinks for the product name and you will rank for that word as well.

Go for the slightly broader term as your domain. Your inner pages can target a plethora of different product names. (These should also be pretty easy to rank if you do proper on-page SEO and send a decent amount of quality backlinks their way.)

According to me you should go for face cleanser instead of your product name. As none person know your product and in fact making your product more known you use online way. And person will enter the word for his demand as face cleanser. So your site will be seen at that time.

Get as many keyword tools as you can, then you will find it easier to find keywords.

You can use Google Keywords Tool and Keyword Optimizer Pro.

These tools will help you to find some long-tail keywords like "face cleanser for women"
