Dilemma about key phrase..

I need help and direction....

New to affiliation.....my first site is being planned and I have everything in place but now I'm stuck on the main key phrase to go after.

My niche would be helping those with golf. A little lame and seasonal which worries me but I've never done this before so why not stick to something I know and enjoy.

I came across 2 key phrases and you can see the global search per kp...

golf for beginners, 30,000+
improve my golf game 1600

Before I make a big mistake....I want to be sure I'm going after the right key phrase. My "thought" is to help folks with their game....so it kinda applies to beginners....but it certaintly applies to improve my golf game.

Greed is coming in....and I see the little search amount for the closer key phrase to my gig and say "why not tailor my thought towards beginners....but I feel that might be a stretch...beginners are probably focused on the grip and what club to hit.....not so much my entry point which would be the mental side of things....

I just need some wisdom....is my niche too small.....do you tailor your current themes to key phrases that might not be the best fit BUT have tons of searches?

Just need your perspective.....

    Great work getting started.

    Quick question.

My niche would be helping those with golf.
Do you already have a product in mind?

If yes...is the product focused more on beginners or on a general audience?

Also, are you checking the Exact Match for those two terms?

I'm coming up with only 1,900 and 91 searches for these two terms?

Were you checking with Broad, Phrase, or Exact Match?

      Same here, slappytheking,

I'm afraid you're looking at broad numbers. When you'll check the "Exact" box, you'll get 1,900 and 91 searches.

I see the keyword "how to play golf" has 6,600 exact searches and "improve golf swing" has 2,400 exact searches. These are not bad numbers at all.

Also, you need to look at the first page of Google to see how strong your competition is.

I got a new key word for you which has lower competition but good searches than "golf for beginners". The keyword is "beginners golf tip". Check whether it will be helpful to you or not.
