Question about web directories

Today I was start work on my new SEO Project. I have 800 web directory list, Which I was used for my last project. I saw more then 400 directory url was expire or Domain was soled . That means user only make directories for getting PR and database from world wide. What you guys think about that ?

    Lots of directories dissapear. You should look for high PR free directories. That way if you submit 800 and end up with 400 live after x time it's not that bad.
