I see there are some webpages with PR 1,2,3,4 etc. But what is the FAKE PR? Is it anything like PR of facebook pages? PR for internal linking?

This is a huge Ebay scam in the domain section... 2 week old domains with PR4... you buy them and a week later PR 0.

it's permanent redirect (301) to a high PR site, Since google thinks it's permanent they pass the high pr to the redirected domain

thanks for all of you above those replied on thread . Well its another new thing came across in our knowledge that fake PR does exist . (Correct me if am wrong )By the way its only google who have a 0/10 page ranking system .
In previous months they stop updating websites page rank But good news is google page rank system is back live and now they random update on page rank .So With live tools like seo quake you can check instant pr before buying a domain, where you have a doubt about PR.

When somebody is offering a domain name for sale, they can synthetically increase the domain's PageRank. It is achieved when fraud domains use a 301 or 302 redirects which point their websites to sites with a high PR, called Fake PR. This is a well-known trick in the SEO world, but people who aren't familiar with Search Engine Optimization are most likely to fall for this.
Sites fake PR by looking for the Googlebot, then redirecting it to a high PR site, like Yahoo.com. Google sees that users actually land on Yahoo.com and the PR Bar in turn reflects the PR of the Yahoo.com rather than your site.

Someone told me we need to check the PR with Google PR checker manually because the seal of PR can be fake !!!!
It show their website PR 6 but it you check it, it do not have that high PR.
How is that possible? Is that just a fake image of showing PR?

Fake Page rank is becoming a very dangerous problem. When somebody is offering a domain name for sale, they can artificially increase the domain's PageRank. It is achieved when fraud domains use a 301 or 302 redirects which point their websites to sites with a high PR.

I know this is unrelated, but of similar context.

If I was going to migrate an old site (old domain) to a new domain (more keyword specific), if I 301/302 redirected the existing domain/site, to the new domain, would that mean I would keep my current PR/Backlinks?

    Cheers

Use Google PR toolbar to check the PR of a web-page.
I really wonder people still think about PR when it has become so 2000ish metric.
I would rather concentrate on improving my SERP, conversion and ROI than thinking about real and fake PR.
