Bulllet Proof Way to Check Google Rankings?

I know it sounds funny...but i really have problems checking the rankings of some of my sites due to the differences in methods and software i use.

First, i need to check google.com USA rankings but i am located in EU. So i am usually Market Samurai, Proxies...eg. sitesurf.net and also scroogle.org

EACH of those methods shows me something different.

Market Samurai for a certain site of mine doesn't even show ONE backlink or any rankings (!!!) which is absurd since the site is several years old and has many backlinks.

Then, in scroogle i am on position #30 for a keyword, and then of course if i use a browser from home i also get various rankings and backlink information. (I am aware that Google has several datacenters in several countries)

But it doesnt make it easier to determine what my "real" rankings are ATM...in particular the fact that Market Samurai doesnt show ANYTHING right now.

Any idea what to do?

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but what I do is:

1 Log out of your Google account

    2. Go to: Preferences

    3. In the 'Location' box - type what country you want to see results from.

(For google.com you would type in United States most likely, and etc)

I had this issue too, that's why I am using several tools to check my rankings. These are:
    1) Traffic Travis.
    2) FREE Search Engine Rankings Check in Seconds
    3) Free SERP Checker | SERPrush

Anyway I found that all the tools above show different results, so sometimes I do the work directly at Google. You can do these steps:

    1) Go to Google, sign out and turn off your Google Instant.
    2) Type your keywords at the search and hit enter.
    3) On the URL bar at your browser, add "&gl=us&pws=0" at the back (without quotation marks).

"&gl=us" means geo-location is US, it will show US results. "&pws=0" means turning off personalized search, I think this would give you more accurate result.

Here's another tool that lets your check the rankings and input geo target and language, too bad its restricted to 4 searched a day for the time being. Works pretty well for me and the rankings dont differ that much
