Help With Facebook and Adwords

I've started with getting into the affiliation game and it's exciting. But I just want to gain some feedback from experienced folks.

First, is it wise to do affilation through Google Adwords? From what I know, Google will not allow you to place a HOP link directly on the ad. So, am I safe to assume that you should have a landing page on your website then lead the visitor to the affiliates? Does this thinking result in poor sales with to many jumps to the end product? (I will have an email sign up on the page...that advice was given by WF so it will be done).

Second....Facebook.....it's cheap out there and I just ran a very simple test to see what I get directing the visitor straight to the affiliate page. My test was was targeted enough and I got 55 clicks yesterday.....with no sales!!! No sales....I mean, the ad qualified the visitor....and no sales after 55 clicks.....a head scratcher.....

After reading about FB ad's.....is the secret in the hundreds of ads you need to run in different ages and different interests? I'm not a marketing guru but does it get down to "that" micro point of slicing that determines a conversion?

Thanks for all your experience.....if I'm off base....kick me in the head and put me in the right direction.....

When you say cheap, how cheap is Facebook Ads for you? You have to pick really amazing products with a widespread appeal, or use better targeting. I can get you clicks for about five cents each, not from Facebook Ads though.

55 clicks is just scratching the surface of testing a campaign.
