Hello,

Just made my first niche site, now all I need is to get at least some position in google. My budget is not big, maximum 30-40$. What would You do?

I would probably start manually backlinking, but what else? Any suggestions and recommendations are welcome.
Edit:
How long does it take to change my website google rank and what are the best ways to avoid being sandboxed?

Thank you.

Is the content on your pages created in Wordpress or within a blogging platform? If so, you can ping and submit to major blog and social networking directories to start - that should get you indexed.

From there, you want to create content that links back to your page AND that is relevant AND that gets picked up by some authority sites.

    So, your choices?

    1. Articles - even though they have less link juice than before, you can (and should) still create high quality articles that you post first to one of your own sites and then submit to directories where you will get some backlink credit as well as get the chance to be syndicated toward other platforms and gain more backlinks.

    2. Participate and signup for profiles in related forums - these will get you dozens of related backlinks alone

    3. Create a blog where you can build up content and link back to your money pages...again these should be related content blogs that deliver quality information and have your keyword optimized anchor text links back to your money site

    4. Comment in related forums...you can get some credit for commenting in pretty much any forum out there, I am still a big fan of keeping most of your commenting activity to related forums and link back to your various related pages. Again, doing 20-30 minutes of commenting each day can gain you dozens of quality backlinks each week.

Don't be too caught up in getting thousands of backlinks...it is the combination of on-page SEO, domain name, quality backlinks (rather than just quantity) that matters most.

Ping is when you basically inform a search engine a certain site is ready to be crawled. Wikipedia covers it in more detail. PingFarm is a popular free backlink pinger allowing mass upload.

Hey, mandos123. Congrats on your first niche site!

If it were me, I'd do the following:
    • Have a press release written
    • Get it submitted to all the top Press Release distribution sites
    • Manually build some blog comment links on other blogs in your niche
    • Manually build blog comment links on .edu sites (especially on high PR blog posts)
    • Do some social bookmarking with Onlywire, Social Monkee, and IMAutomator
    • Submit your articles to EZA, GoArticles, and ArticlesBase
    • Contact other blog owners in your niche and try to set up a guest post
The only cost doing the above should be about 10-$15 for the press release stuff.

Oh and make sure you only submit your articles to the article directories after they've been indexed on your site first.

How long it will take you to get ranked on the first page of Google depends on your competition, and my best advice to avoid being sandboxed is to not build thousands of forum profile links or anything like that. Make sure you're going after the right keywords.

Hello mandos123, Danny suggested some good points, and I do agree with him. However Articlebase don't provide do-follow link so it will not give you SEO value but it can surely bring some traffic on your blog.
Do natural link building, post comments on blogs, many blogs approve guest posts so if you can write well, try getting backlinks form guest blogging as such links gives you quality link juice.
Again, ranking is relevant term, you can rank in 10 days or can't rank even after 6 months. If you build links naturally you will never get sandboxed for sure.
Do not get 1000's of Profile Links, Do not Post Comments on some open blogs fludded with hundreds of comments. Don't Post 1 article into 20-30 sites.
do it slowly, increase speed time to time..
    You will surely achieve ranking.

Start by putting your site name and main keyword in your signature. Google crawls WF a lot.

The first task should be to get your website indexed.

Ping it and start creating backlinks as well (Article submission, Web Directory Submission, Forum Profile Links etc)

For a new website, the best way to start promoting your website is through a professional press release written and distributed. It will help get targetted visitors as well as authority backlinks to your website.

I would recommend performing some manual backlinking by posting Press Releases. Also, browse the Warrior Classified Advertisements section and purchase a Search Engine Optimization service.

    Hey all, first post! w00t!

Not trying to derail, but I too have just launched a site. Hoping to build a little cash thru Amazon.

I'm curious though, I opened up the site yesterday, submitted for indexing this AM. Tonight, I googled one of the words and BAM, #3!

Does having an Amazon store help?

There are a lot of ways to start backlinking but I always suggest to start to create a smaller and gradual # of links for a few weeks. From there you go to level 2 and create even more...from there you can get into bigger #'s and more complicated campaigns.

First use the Web 2.0 and social bookmarking to start your site with and then start relevant blog commenting. This should do the work

I think you got now a lot of advices to get on. But be carefull not to make too much at the beginning. Penaltys are coming with unregular Linkbuilding so make sure that your Linkbuilding is "natural".

A very fast way to get your site indexed is to go to : AboutUs: Easy-To-Understand Tools & Resources For SEO & Web Marketing
And run a report on your domain. You will be indexed in a day or two if not hours.

Other warriors have definitely answered your question very tactfully. Bottom line is to keep link building, dont ever just stop cold turkey. Your SERP placement is going to dance on you but if you stop cold turkey its going to dance down to the floor where you don't want it to go
