The flexibility theme is always good. It's quite easy to customize and stuff, I would suggest you also get the all in one SEO plugin

Thanks for the inputs but I'm looking for Wordpress themes that are SEO optimized and not plug-ins.

Any simple Wordpress theme is ok, as for as your On-Page SEO is ok, everything will work fine. By the way if you are going to monetize your site with Adsense then have a BlueSense theme, it available for Wordpress and blogger as well and its FREE too. Hope you will find it useful.

Twenty ten and some of the themes built on that framework.

Do a search for wpweaver or it might be just weaver. It is built on twenty ten and is very customizeable.

The defaults aren't too bad honestly. If you want to make a tiny investment, go for Clickbump Engine.

Honestly, I would either stick with the default themes provided, or spend a little money on a paid theme. As long as you know how to tweak the theme you are using, you can optimize it for SEO to the point that it will be better than any of these so-called SEO Wordpress themes claim to be out of the box.

Your better off just picking a simple theme & do the on-page seo & Adsense optimization yourself, why run the same theme as the other 50k Adsense affiliates?

I have tried both themes designed for adsense- like heatmap and normal wordpress themes and I found that there is no real much difference in the earnings.

A slight difference is there in the adsense themes, however, with proper placement of ads in a normal theme would also help increase the CTR.

You can find some free adsense themes here :

High CTR Themes - WP Adsense Themes

Heatmap theme is also recommended, however, it is paid:

The Ultimate Authority Adsense Theme for WordPress - HeatMap Theme Pro

I have used a adsense theme called Blue Sense created by Dosh Dosh:

      Adverse Event Reporting System

      Hope helps!

Whatever you end up with, make sure its SEO optimized out of the blocks and is flexible enough to support a variety of designs and layouts without changing themes.

The best test to quickly determine if the theme is optimized for speed and usability is to view a website that is running the theme and look under the covers at "View Source". If you see dozens of lines of "code" at the top before you get to a single word of actual content, run away fast. This is exactly how Google sees your site. The quicker you can get to the actual indexible content, the better you will fare.

A well optimized theme will utilize linked CSS stylesheets in the head and move all other scripts to the footer just before the closing body tag.

Clean markup and well optimized CSS is the key to an attractive, responsive, and easily indexible website.
