adsense going up in few cent increments

so i was watching my adsense account yesterday and it was going up in a few cent increments, todays earnings, 0.05, 0.06, 0.09 0.10 etc etc. quite a few different small increments i noticed checking at various times during the day....
then when today i can see my performance report for that day it shows 2 clicks at lets say 75c....definitely not 50x 3c clicks.....
so what is happening?!
