Backlinks on Fiverrr... mostly crap?

I have bought a few backlinks packages on fiverr, but most of them are comments spam and xrumer blasts, etc which, in my experience for my sites, have very little positive effect. I'm actually worried such links might hurt my sites in Google's eyes.

Any tips on how to get some good backlink work via fiverr?

I guess the obvious answer is you get what you pay for... which makes sense. Few would be able to provide much quality in backlinking for only 5 bucks, but, I thought it can't hurt to ask the experience from members here. Thanks!

As you've found, backlink packages on Fiverr are mostly Xrumer or blog commenting.

The only way I've found to get a handle on how good/bad they are is to skim the comments and look for people who've written more than a couple of words. Even then you have to be careful early on as it's not unheard of for people to set up more than one account and buy/rate their own gigs.

Some of the article gigs I've tested are OK but depend on the method used - UAW seems better than, say, AMR but maybe I've hit unlucky on the latter.

Not tried the wiki backlinks yet but the ones with articles are on my "to do" list.

And there's a few of the link pyramid options that seem to use web 2.0 properties as the first tier - maybe worth a look but the couple I've tried I've not noticed any changes yet and that's after several weeks.

Test, keep notes, double check stuff from the previous gig is still there and hasn't been swamped by auto-approve junk!

Link building from Fiverr is hit or miss. I did buy a gig from a guy that offered EDU links. I'd have to login to my account to get the gig's link, but I bought some EDU links from this guy, and really thought nothing of it.

Recently I checked Market Samurai for the domain that I had those links sent to, and I had 40-something EDU links that MS found, and I think the package that I bought was 50. I can't remember... I may have bought 2 packages of 50, or 2 of 25, but that's the only EDU backlinking that I had done, and I had good experience with that.

As for the others... the linking gets done, but poor index rates makes the gigs seem useless.

If you have a solid method that you use to get those backlinks indexed, then you might have success with Fiverr.

I would suggest doing some guest posting on PR1 and above websites or blogs. If you want to write some guest posts check out these sites chiprang.com, inpui.com, mizoramexpress.com .... I believe they accept guest posting in return they give you backlink to your site.

I have bought EDU links too. Got several high PR EDU links. However, they were useless, because they were comments on a page with hundreds of other spammer links... such "high PR link" are worth next to nothing.

Really the guys selling gigs on fiverr are getting maybe $4 per gig.

Ask yourself, would you build quality backlinks for someone else for a whopping $4?

Not everything on fiverr is crap, example I've found a few good voice overs for $5 that I use on 30+ videos, per $5 fiverr gig. So I get $5/30 = $0.17 per video. Not a bad ROI, when each video gets thousands of hits.

Think about it for a second, how much are you actually making from a Fiverr gig? Pennies really.

Having said that, in order to make any worthwhile money on Fiverr, you've gotta do a lot of gigs. Now, do you really think they care all that much about providing the most value or doing as many jobs as possible.

Therefore, the overall effectiveness is gonna be worth your $5, but thats about it. In order to make Fiverr really work, you've gotta get really creative and do a lot over overlapping of gigs and build a "linkwheel" from gigs.

Why would anyone turn their sites over to any knucklehead on fiverr?

      Dumb and dumber-err.

I have no idea why anyone would do that either. I don't think anyone in this thread said that's the recommended approach.

Some of the gigs on fiverr are not too bad. There are some people that will do high pr blog commenting and there are some that will do blog network submissions or senuke submissions. If you supply them with a spun article you control the quality of the content and they can post to places for you that would otherwise cost hundreds of dollars per month in membership fees.

Get a professional voice over for your next audio or video project at an affordable price -- I will record 150 words of text for just $5.

I can't argue with that, if it works for you. Just saying you better be
very careful as to who and what you get from fiverr.

I offered a low OBL pr7 dofollow AND autoapprove blog comment on fiverr a month ago. I had about 200 views on the first day, guess how many sales I got? zero zip zilch

There's so much crap on there in regards to backlinks that people can't decipher a good offer and a bad one.

Fiverr is great to have someone make you a squidoo lens or hubpage with a link back to your website.

I don't understand how people think that they could get "quality" links from fiverr.
    It's $5. What is $5 worth today?

You definitely can get good links for $5 if you are willing to spend some time sifting through the crappy offers to find the gems.

Agree on this ".... you get what you pay for" Anyways, if you're not satisfied with the list you can tell the seller and have it settle. Maybe you can pay $5 in just few list but great quality and high pr list.

I Never go with anything like "Will do 1000 backlink to your sites".. its mostly xrumer,

I do go for a smaller high PR manual backlinking once and then use their report to make a similar link for my other website (store in my backlink collection)

I had a good sift through fiverr, and due to research I've done already on SEO through the likes of this forum, most of the gigs do indeed seem crap. Though I agree with the above posters who mentioned about utilizing the gigs that offer submissions to private blog networks. I think that offers value rather than the automated link blasts.

Rather than wasting your money on backlinks you should buy some content from this money and make backlinks through the content by submitting articles and guest blog posts
