Should I Go For This Keyword?

Hi guys,

I've found a keyword and upon analyzing my competition, I have found that the page ranking on #1 of google for this particular keyword, is a PR4 page, with 1000 backlinks. However, it is neither on-page or anchor optimized for that keyword. Not a single anchor consists of my targeted keywords. Also, roughly 70% of backlinks are coming from one particular site.

On the other hand, I've managed to register an exact match domain, I've on-page optimization and I plan on building keyword anchored backlinks from diverse sources.

My question is - should this be something worth going for?

It shouldn't be to hard to rank since 70% is coming from one site and you have an exact match domain.

Those were my thoughts exactly. But I'm unusure because I've never really tackled PR4 pages with 1000 backlinks before.

Zannix it is all backlink game.. if you have more backlinks from different high pagerank sites .. your website pagerank will become higher.. so to beat a website with pr4 you need to have more backlinks then him from authority websites and high pr sites .. you can beat pr4 website but that would take sometime..

    YES!

In fact I hardly ever look at competition with keywords - just make sure that there are enough searches and if you can do all of the other stuff i.e On page seo, backlinks etc... go for it!

  • As the 70% of backlinks come from one website, It won't be difficult to defeat this competition. So go for it

Optimized anchor text and broad basis back links is very important, you are surely missing some basics of SEO.

Gotta love post boosters that reply to things they don't actually read.

I would go fo it. It seems you don't have much to lose other than a little elbow grease, and you potentially have a lot to gain.

My top 3 competitors each have a PR4 and with my EMD, on page SEO and good baclinking strategy i breezed past them in under two weeks. Go for it. Judging by what you said, it actually sounds very easy.

Yes, absolutely Good on page SEO and quality/varied backlinks are huge factors in beating competition so I don't see why you won't do it. I'd also just add that you should make sure your site content is good(and regularly added), and you are interlinking everything. Good luck
