Link popularity, in general sense, tells how much popular your link or website in the internet world. Going by the definition it is the number of inbound links to your site. More inbound links or the backlinks you get more is the link popularity.

Link popularity is the counting of number of links to your site and from your site on the World Wide Web. There are two types of counting. The first one is internal and second one is external counting. Mostly search engines give exposure to your site according to your link popularity.

Link popularity is one of the algorithm Google uses to rank websites. It is nothing but the number of links that leads to a specific page and the anchor text of the link which shows the relevancy of the website.

Link Popularity means Number of Backlink of link. In the Google Search Engine Provide Numeric value to the link that's we call PR its start from 1 to 10. On the other hands Alexa also provide numeric value to link.

High PR means High Popularity.

More you have backlinks in other forums pointing to your website.... your link will be that much popular.

But don't create backlink in spam sites or bad neighborhood.

The theory goes something like this: The search engine Powers That Be have decided that if other sites are linking to your site, it must be a winner; therefore, it deserves a boost in rankings (when all else is equal). If you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. People link to good sites, not bad ones.
