Facebook PPC works, you just have to know your target demographic and you have to have some money to test!

What are you trying to do? Are you trying to market your business? Or are you trying to promote CPA offers? Clickbank offers? Etc...

If you're looking to promote CPA offers, it's best to make a landing page, if you direct link you probably will not get any ads approved.

If you're trying to market your business, make a facebook page and use facebook ads to get more likes. Interaction with your fans is key!

Use an image that draws attention with even better copy. Use a very specific target market that are likely to click your ad and you can drive down your PPC cost.

I have go it as low as .01$ per click.

Short answer: no, compared to Adwords.

But maybe you need to wait for more responses. I'm not exactly PPC guru. I'm just saying based from my experience.

If you can make it as a well-targeted campaign, FB PPC will be good because about 50% of users actively log in to Facebook every day..and it means about 300 million people daily.

You should only target users that really need your product or information. Be critical and only choose the ad that your customers will find interesting enough.

      What do you mean..??
Are you saying that a facebook ad is likely to be more effective over time..?
This makes no sense.. Either it works or it does not.. How long the add is running should make no difference to its effectiveness - or am I missing something..?

Yes. Facebook PPC works well but not compared to Adwords. When you venture to a Facebook PPC campaign, you must streamline or narrow down your target demographic. Select an image that best suits your business and the image you think that most people would click. Also, create an enticing description or you can add valuable offers. These will increase the chances of your link to be clicked by FB visitors.

Facebook PPC work well but only for local or small brand business, small products like shoes, laptop, cell phone, cloth etc... while google adwords covers broad area.

I think Facebook PPC ads are great.

You can really narrow down a market if you have a specific demographic you want to target.

I also love the sponsored stories. If someone becomes a fan of a site, I can have ads show to their contacts that they became a fan of the site increasing the chance of their contacts doing the same.

I do a lot of Facebook PPC for my clients, including Game, Nespresso, American Express and Laura Ashley as well as other retail clients and it can work. But let me highlight that can is the important word in that sentence.

For example, with American Express it did not work very well, why because the target demographics for that particular department of the AMEX brand wasn't suitable for the type of conversions and users we were looking for.

However, on the other hand a brand like Nespresso it is excellent for, as they are more keen on building brand awareness, viral marketing and creating exposure to their latest launches.

Overall though, Facebook is very expensive one of the most expensive PPC platforms but it can work it just depends what you plan on getting out of it and what sort of budgets you have. As you can probably imagine, the clients I listed have huge budgets and therefore they have the flexibility to invest in to FB PPC.
